Thread: What is the point of crafting stations?

So I am filling an order of Fishak Surprise and my customer wanted a +500 bonus at least. OK. Not to hard with the proper ingredients. So I get my materials together and plop myself down in front of my crafting station and start my experimenting.

I got 2 failures and a critical failure. Ok, I practice that one and try again.

3 failures and not much else.

So I finally say "*edit* this!" and head outside with my R2 unit.

Not a single failure, and a bunch of great successes. **edit**? I would chalk this up to luck except it keeps happening.

I guess this is good news for Droid Engineers but I am starting to look at my crafting station and think "why is this piece of garbage taking up space in my house?"

Has anyone else had this happen to them? I did hear some doctors mentions that he gets less critical failures when he is out in the boonies then whenhe wasin town at a crafting station.

FYI: I am using a 12.0 Chemical Crafting tool and the station was 12.0, not great but it works.

Yes, I've noticed it too. If memory serves, there was a bug a bit back causing this with HQ boxes and stations... I've been using my station (+30ish if I remember right) and my boxes (+14.69) without many fails...perhaps1-2 every few schematics...could just be the streaky RNG stolen from EQ.

I'll try my droid and see if its any better...

I've had no problems with my 40+ crafting station in my shop. Experimentation failures are rare, and I can't remember the last time I had a crit failure. /shrug

I'm using a +40 crafting station, as well, and even only having Cooking II, I have very few critical failures.

For anyone who does a lot of crafting, a +12 station simply doesn't cut it. You need to find an architect and get a +40 station. I have a +42 and no problems. It's probably been 2-3 weeks since a critical failure.
