Interesting idea, but I really doubt chefs will be getting space foods for a while if ever. A twitched base game just doesn't allow for the normal buffs types we currently have.

That's whyI'm suggesting foods that enhance the succes rate on the "pilot skills", these could easily be implented, because there is a chance for failing those pilot skills/commands.

(Took it from a post I wrote before I got into beta)

Well, I'm not in beta, so I haven't got any insider-information, but some small suggestions:

Chef-items, that would enhance your vision, so you could see an enemy seconds before he could see you (unless he had the same kind of chef-item). Would get you that extra little thing, that chef-items are supposed to get you. It would be measuered in meters of course. This would be a "stat" that you wouldn't get better in even if your were a Master Pilot, you could only get the advantage by eating the food.

And, from what I've been hearing, there are some "stats", or speacial abilities, (like the Privateer's /ptrap1, /ptrap2, /epulse1, /ffscramble and so on.)

Why not have foods that would greaten the chance of getting a good result of the special abilites.

Like if you ate some food that would greaten the chance of getting a good result on the /ptrap1, you would be more focused on sending a more realistic Freighter distress call.

Throat-Loosenup (or whatever)

Power: 20% more likely to get a succes on Pirate Trap (/ptrap, is there one like this for the other factions?).

Duration: Next call.

Fill: xx Fill.

Quantity: xx Quantity.

Precise Finger'ing (or whatever)

Power: 20% more likely to get a succes on /ffscramble.

Duration: Next attempt.

Fill: xx Fill

Quantity: xx Quantity.

Could be created, without destroying the twist-based system.

Or, if you used some food to improve the /epulse1 command, you would be more focused on doing the system overrides succesfully ;

(as descriped in the text here: http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Jump%20to%20Lightspeed:%20Getting%20started%20as%20a%20Privateer:%20Part%20II )

Just some suggestions for JTL Foods!

I understand where you're coming from, not wanting to be left out of the expansion and see sales drop along with the AS, WS...Docs etc. But I don't think space combat should be as stat oriented as ground combat. They designed it to be twitch based primarily, and I like it that way. Gorrnar is as close as our foods will be useful to pilots. Something to ease the process of dying.

If they were going to implement something, I'd like it to be something along those lines, decreasing BF and wounds after dying in space. Maybe Aitha, which has something in its description about being useful on long flights, would decrease wounds and BF a small amount, and another food or drink in the Chef line would do it to a greater degree.

But i'd rather not have pilot skills be augmented by buffs, it should be skill boxes, your ship and your reflexes IMO.

I have an idea, the 30 foods and drinks they deleted during the chef revampcan come back as foods that aid in space. Some could aid in reduction of BF and wounds. Others can improve skills or luck, etc.

I'm for getting some of the old foods back.

I like the idea of a food that can reduce the bf and wounds you take if you are killed in space. That is something that would be really nice. Also it really would have a limited impact upon space itself.

Now though I have a question which maybe deserves its on topic. If the special abilites of all the combat professions come to be based on a pool like the Jedi force pool. What will us chef's do? It would eliminate 80-90% of our business....

I don't think we'll have a revamp until the crafter revamp after the combat thingy.

It won't necessarily kill our business.
Regardless of the stat that lets you do special abilities, if we can buff that, then we're okay. Just pray that if they do change to a system like that, they modify our buffs accordingly. But I understand what you mean.

Maybe a "twitch" type food that let you turn on a better radius...or a chef/smuggler buff that makes you "more recklass" and you can go 10% faster for a certain amout of time...

nooo no no, the Simulation of FLIGHT combat is already mucked up in JTL, the better your equipment, the more likely you will succeed... less skill is involved, back in WW2, it was all skill, staying behind your target, evasive maneuvers without stalling out and crashing... and now food items in space to increase ones "skill" i think not

besides how would you eat it? before liftoff? eh thats elqueero

Well, I'll say this. Something needs to be added because JTL has destroyed my business!
