Ok.. I FINALLY get my Novice Chef! Yay! I *was* very excited by this.. and then I play with my new recipies.. Not its fail fail fail fail on soo much of my experimentation. I'm sad.. I thought that the difference between Dom foods and Nov Chefs foods might had been exaggerated but nope... This is awful Anyway, a pep talkor suggestions for having better sucesses would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Thank God. It's been a few hours since we got one of these posts. I was worried the word had spread and people were avoiding the chef profession all together!

Just don't want to get your hopes up too high. There are couple of good chef items (sunburn for instance), but for the most part our class is not going to really take off until they rebalance the tree (which I continue to hopewill happen in a good way). The disappointment you feel happened to all of us.

Wicked, Chef becomes fun (at least for me) once you get cooking II and some of the other skill trees. I recommend you grind your way to mix II, then use the ithorian mist to grind to cooking II. From then on it's all up to you. I think getting new recepies will make it even more fun, so I recommend you go for dessert or entree or even mix III.

Unfortunately Novice Chef is a joke. There's nothing in there of interrest. Just grind your way out of there. It's the most painfull part of beinga chef. There are others, like broken schematics, bugged factories and milk, but they aren't that bad compared to novice chef.

Here is what I did when I encountered the pain that is Novice chef.

Grinded Wastril bread to mix II.
Grinded Ithorian Mist from Mix II to Cook IV (did this in one sunday, I let my harvesters stockpile for 5 days.)

No I couldn't be happier, I've got 9 points to play with, and I don't fail hardly at all.

Everyone has their own approach to the grinding process. I started off with the regular Wastril Bread and climbed to Desserts 3 where I obtained Kiwik Clusjo Swirl. It requires 3 different resources,no components, and the xp is roughly 180 per combine, and another 75-90 ish once you get someone to eat it. This really helps you grind for that needed xp quicker

I became a novice chef on Saturday. I hate grinding. I keep hoping these games will eventually "get it" and work on that aspect. I was a Legenardy Grandmaster Smith in DAoC and while this crafting system is better, when it comes to grinding, there is no difference. As long as a system allows someone to make ten thousand items a day and get away with it, people will grind. /rant off

Since I didn't grind artisan, I'm trying to use my same methods and try to enjoy the journey instead of trying to get to some "master" title. I'm trying to sell my foods. I don't care how long it takes me to get my first box or any other box. I'll get them when I get them.

I make Charde, Meatlumps, Wastril Bread, Almond Crunchies and sell them. I also mix in some Dom foods that are way better that I can sell more expensively. Unless I totally ruin something,I put it on the bazaar and sell it. So far, everything has sold.

I think, for now at least, that there aren't that many chefs. I'm not competing against masters and other uber people. I"m greatful that I have a market for myfoods. It's not all bad. I even eat some of it myself. Meatlumps work well in combat.

I fail some, but I succeed some too. One day I'll get some boxes in cooking and then chef will be fun.
