Experimentation still isn't working properly at least with food items

I had a sucess and my wastrel bread went up to +72 stat bonus. Then I experiment again and get a sucess and it goes down to +60!

I've failed and gotten the stats to rise!

The same thing has been happening to me too! I get a success and like it's supposed to, it goes up. Another time I get a success and it goes down. I've also gotten failures that actually raise the stats better than a success.

From what I have noticed, a "success" is meaning that at least one of the three experimentation bars has increased. It doesn't care if you failed onthe other experimentation bars. Then again, maybe if the overall experimentation increase is greater than the decrease in stats, it's considered a success. Seems stupid to me, but this is what I've seen so far.
