Thread: How many folks have played chefs/cooks in other MMORPGs?

Just curious.

I dunno what it is about being a chef/cook that appeals to me, but I have been one in every MMORPG I've played that had the skill (which, so far, means EQ and Asheron's Call).

They didn't have a chef class in DAOC, but I figured out where you could get a "piece of cake" and would often bring stacks of them to events. I billed myself as pastry chef .

I had aGM chef/fisherman in UO just for kicks (those MIB's were a lot of fun) and I played around with cookinga bit in AC. I got out of EQ before they fixed all the bugs with food and recipes so I never had the opportunity to try it out. I really don't think any of the other online games I've played had a true Chef class.

Pity.

I never played achef class before. But in EQ I used to be a druid, since they did a lot of buffing, thats kinda why I became a chef.

I was a Grand Master Brewer, and planned on my first AA points going toward getting me to Grand Master Baker. All my other tradeskills (except smithingandjewelcraft, which were over 180 when I quit) were at 200, as well as having mastered the fine arts of fishing and foraging.

I've dabbled in most of the craftingprofessions in SWG (up to getting over halfway toMaster Architect) before deciding to settle into Chef. I really enjoy crafting, and even more, I enjoy advancing my*character* by crafting, as opposed to advancing a *skill* by crafting (if that makes any sense whatsoever, I've been up way too long )

In theory, I would never have to lift a weapon or finger in combat and I could still advance in my chosen crafting profession. Not that it happens, of course, shooting things is just fun.

I was a Chef/Fisherman in UO (Pacific Shard).

I liked that more than the interface we have for SWG... You feel like you are doing more for the profession... eventhough you didn't get as many benefits.

I was a chef in UO, that was fun, especially for my first MMORPG. Then I was a chef/alchemist in AC, and that was...very simplified. The vendor system and crafting system set up in SWG is the best I've used so far. Now if they could only fix the small detail of the food

Ok, while I haven't played EQ, I have a friend that does, so I *do* know what you're talking about.

But I still think getting AA points as a Grand Master Brewer is friggen hilarious.

First, you must admit that you have a problem.
Second, believe that a power greater than you (SOE seems to fit) can help you.
