Thread: CHEFS BEING IGNORED??
I think we are to an extent.
Case in point: Bugged food stacks.
Imagine for a moment that the stack bug were happening to stimpacks. use 3 stims and logout, come back the whole stack of 19 left is inoperable. They would fix thisin one dayprobably.
Now as for bugged food stacks? Have we even had this acknowledged?

And on milk, I'm hoping as only the hopeless can hope that they've got a brilliantly fun new system worked out that's going to floor us all when it hits test center.
We definitely aren't being completely ignored...food factories were finally fixed, after all. The only problem is that the devs have a difficult job: trying to please everybody. First, they have to try and please all the players as a whole, and SemiSquared is right: there are very few of us, and a whole lot more of a lot of other classes (read: combat classes). Then, they have to try to please as many chefs as possible, and if you take a look at some of the posts about how we ought to be fixed, you'll see that the opinion of how it should be done varies widely. There are those who want the recipe attainment order revamped, while others want food duration extended, while others want every tier II food item to have properties equivilant to tatooine sunburn.
either way, they're working on it ![]()
The bugged stacks is definitely an issue that needs to get fixed. Business has dropped off dramatically as I get more and more "I can't use this food" tells.
Thinking about it logically, Chefs aren't going to get a balance pass until the core combat classes are balanced or near-balanced. We are a "buff" profession and until the people whom we are buffing are balanced against each other it makes little sense to try to balance the buffs. They'd just have to go back and re-balance us against the changes and I'm sure they're trying to avoid doing things twice.

There was a post a few days ago that it was "On the list" for TestCenter. So they are aware of it. Where on the list he didn't say
I play on test center...and our launch pad notes haven't been updated for like, 4-5 patches...so we don't even know what to test now...
That's one of the things that really bugs me in this game (funny, there are so many other issues to be miffed about).
Eating and Drinking, optional. Pfft.
I really liked the EverQuest food and drink system. You could get your basic "bread and water" for pennies, or really splurge on that awesome stat food that lasted 3x as long.
Add to the optional "problem" the fact that other professions can buff better and longer, it becomes tricky to convince the general public to invest in something they don't need to survive (though the converts will tell you it's the critical difference in the success of their high end missions)
I never saw a problem making food and drink a requirement, after all, people need to eat and drink tolive (I know, it's a game "suspension of belief" but that'sstretching it a bit).
I do like SWG's active food buff system better than EQ's passive one, though.
