I just made some really nice (nicer than I've come across on my server after playing for 4months - although there may have been better out there) canapes with the follow stats:

+722, 9m 44s, 33 fill, 7 qty.

I read that a good rule of thumb is to go 20cpu on all resources and then figure in the cost for each BE additive. Is that what most of you do, or do you just generally pick a number and go with it?

With my calculations, the resources necessary for my canapes cost me almost 100k per crate in and of themselves. Our server tends to be pretty middle of the road in terms of pricing (e.g brandy from 90k onthe really cheap side to 150k, which most don't dare charge), so with their cost to me, I'd like to make some sort of profit, lol. I was thinking of going 130k per crate of canapes with my lower power of +703, 9m 36s and then pricing the better ones at a higher price for the PvPers out there, but now I'm seeing that some of you charge 250k for a crate of canapes, so I'm a bit torn. The 250k-ers must be from really inflated servers though, I'm guessing.

For all o fyou, regardless of your servers, what sort of markup/profit typically comes out of each sale of whatever products you have available?

As you can see, I'm just chock full of questions because I want to offer my items at a fair price, but I don't want to be giving them away either.

Any help you can give me will be much appreciated. Like, a whooooole ton appreciated!

I sell all heavy and medium add foods at 150k a crate... Canape...33/+742/9:30...Brandy 50/+430/45:30....Bivoli 27/+25.6/3 uses

I tend to keep my prices the same no matter how good the food i make is.

I charge 175k a crate of canape, regardless of stats. If Ahrisa did not exist perhaps I would charge more. My basis for the 175k is the incredible resources I use and the fact that it uses a heavy additive.

I don't use a cpu pricing system, heck I have no clue how much cpu I charge for foods. I just price stuff where the market is at. If a specific type of food sells out constantly before I can restock, then it's obviously priced too low, so I raise it. If a food doesn't sell, then I'll lower the price. My main goal is to have fair prices and have a constant supply of food/drink in stock. I used to charge 150k for canapes, but they sold really quick, so I raised my prices to 175k, and I still sell quite a bit, but I can keep them stocked now. Ahrisa sells the most in my shops, probably because you only have 3 uses per stack. I price that at 150k because Ahrisa is a bit easier to mass produce than a lot of other chef foods, so I can keep it in stock even with the large amounts of sales.

I have some of the best canape on Lowca, not going to say i have THE best, but I found that the only way to keep my canape in stock and keep someone from buying a lot of it is to price it at $300k. I know that some of you think that's high, but I go on the market value. If I price it at one price and it sells like hotcakes, I raise the price a little until I get a steady flow of sales. I'd rather have my prices a little higher and keep some of the food in stock for a little bit than sell everything out as soon as I put it out. Depends on how much time you spend crafting.

I have some idea what my foods cost but it has no effect on what I charge. My prices are based on how popular a food is and how fast I want it to sell.

Well, I finally opened for business on Friday (yay!! and people immediately cleaned me out of all my ahrisa. I restocked that, and today there was a run on the +722 canapes. I don't know if it's because our server has been a little lackluster in the foods department as of late, or if I'm not not charging enough (and I consider my prices to be on the high end for us). I'm a little concerned with the rate at which things are being bought out, but at the same time, I enjoy knowing people are visiting.

I'm thinking maybe the old "slow and steady wins the race" adage is correct on this one, and that maybe I need to raise prices a smidge in order to keep the vendor stocked and keep myself sane. I don't really want to be "that girl that charges an arm and a leg for her food" though, lol.
