Hi there. I have been looking into using Exo Protien Waffers instead of Syntstake because of the filling/damage reduction ration is better and you can pretty much take a Exo Protien Waffer every couple minutes.
I picked up some 25% damage reduction for 20 attacks stuff but when I used it I didn't notice any reduction in damage. Also, there is no message in the combat spam about damage being mitagated by food.
I am wondering if this food works at all? Maybe the latest round of bug-fixes has broke this.
I will do some more testing but if anyone knows please do share.
Thanks!

Dang, I just had a friend test it and he said it worked for him. Synthstake works for me and I get a damage mitagation message in the combat log. I wonder why Exo Protien Waffers didn't work?

If you look in your buff window it comes up at unnatural toughness. When it blocks damage it shows up odd in the logs. But its been working for me as well.

Yes, this works for me as well. Customers tell me the same thing. 5 fill 25% reduction wafers (20 attacks) have become very popular. With the new shorter stomach fill you can almost macro eating these and it's like having an additional 25% armor layer with resists to everything!

Wafers works very VERY well.
The 28% reduction, 18 attacks, 5% fill stuff i make myself is being sold like candy. For a Jedi it's highly effective as you usually take big hits when u get hit. And since the filling is so low, you can eat it basically as soon as it runs out. Mid-combat without any issues.
The main problem with Synthsteak is the high filling. It simply takes up too much.
Most steak is at around 25-27% fill. That means you can eat between 5 and 6 Exo's before you take up the same space as 1 steak.
Never leave the door without it

It's an interesting comparison, the Exo-protein versus the Synthsteak. I sell 10 Synthsteak for every 1 crate of exo-protein wafers. I think this is partly what took off on what servers, etc... and sythsteak has a strong reputation.
Comparison.
My Exo-protein wafers are +25% for 20 attacks, 5 fill. Lets assume your being hit for 500 pts of damage. 25% x 500 x 20 = 2,500 damage points mitigated. 2,500 x 5 (to equal 25 fill) = 12,500 pts of damage mitigated.
My Synthsteak is +45% for 30 attacks. 25 fill. Lets again assume your being hit for 500 pts of damage. 45% x 500 x 30 = 6,750 damage points mitigated. And since we are already at 25 fill your total damage mitigated for 25 fill committed is 6,750.
6,750 for Synthsteak as compared with 12,500 for exo-protein wafers when compared on a same benefit/stomach fill standpoint.
Is it late and I messed this up somehow or are the exo-wafers really twice as good as synthsteak? The gap narrows slightly as damage per attack increases, but even at 3K damage per attack we are still talking 40K versus 75K damage mitigated. Maybe in the morning I will realize I made a miscalculation here but at this point the exo-wafers look to be a much better option in combat.

I think your calculations are correct, xDigger, but you're right that it's mainly a factor of Synthsteak's reputation.
Many customers get used to wanting the "best", and look directly at the number on the food, rather than doing a more involved calculation. For example, as we've seen in other threads, the difference in a buff between +25 Bivoli and +24 Bivoli is around 8 points or so. Hardly earth-shattering, but there's still a large audience that demands the +25.
One thing that I think a lot of my customers do is to get Synthsteak and Exo-Protein and use Synth at first, then top up with Wafers when the Synth wears out. If you're being hit for 800-1000 points of damage then the different between 45% and 25% reduction is significant, and could mean life or death on an individual attack.
O.

i only really use Synth steak against jedi and I cannot heal, so I need as much protection as I can get, so I choose synthsteak
