Chef Archive

I have just started a new character on the Eclipse Server. My goal with her is to be a Chef. I was a Grandmaster Baker in EQ on the Tribunal Server and really enjoyed that particular tradeskill.

That being said...

As I advance through the Novice Chef tree I am seeing some recipes call for rare ingredients such as Eggs and Milk. Through my travels I have collected a few of each of these and I have also collected some Fish and Crustaceans. When the "Search Lair" option was added to Scouts, I trained Novice Scout in order to be able to do this. So, now Eggs aren't so rare anymore. But, what about Milk ?? The only milk thatI have found was off of a Plasma Thief one day.

Does anyone have any ideas on where to find more Milk ? In speaking to some other Scout friends, they have told me that milk can be found in a Lair search, but it is very rare. Are lairs and various humanoid npcs the only place that milk can be found ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just out of curiousity, what schematics have you found that use eggs?

I thought I had seen a recipe calling for eggs, but when I went back to look for it again, I couldnt find it.

I guess my biggest sticking point is Milk.

Of course, why eggs arent needed for baking is beyond me.

Maybe all those recipes that call for milk should call for eggs instead, since eggs can be found and milk cant.

eggs can be used whenever 'organic' is needed...though Bio Eng. need eggs more, and will pay for them.

eggs don't seem to have amazing quality or anything..though as a scout I did make a pretty good stink bomb trap using eggs for a component.

Eggs also qualify as "meat" for recipes. I got some 950+OQ eggs from a scout, and those were some darn fine Almond Crunchies that came out...

And eggs as a stink bomb component: genius!
