Yes, this is another thread regarding the CU, but I need some input from the folks that were around when the first chef revamp occurred.
There were several foods that were taken out of the game, yes? What I'm wondering is whether the ingredients that went into those foods (i.e. things you were hoarding because they were valued and necessary) carried over to other schematics or if once the schematics disappeared, the need for those resources disappeared as well.
I'm trying my best not to fall prey to this "end of the chef profession" business, and concentrate on trying to prepare for some sort of switch that I know is inevitable, but having hoarded 20 million units of berries, and millions upon millions of other resources for schematics that may or not exist in the coming weeks has me a bit worried.
Of course, I know that it's impossible to say how things will pan out, but I'm hoping the past will be a good indication of how things will be handled this time around.
So...old timers, what say you?

want some reacitve gas?
Ive got a mill or so of it, work great in Tat sunburns...but nothing since..
I think we just have to wait for testing. I don't see MAJOR changes showing up in the resources needed, but I would expect that a couple common foods might drop off, and a couple not common ones now will come into popular use.

So basically, some of the old resources that extinct recipes called for are basically useless to chefs now; they didn't carry over to anything. Godd*mn, it's scary to think that a lot of my most popular resources could now only be useful as a general organic. *shudder*

Either way you still have to think that Berries/Tubers/Greens/Fruit will still be needed a ton so your set its the odd ones like reactive gas (pre revamp) that might change.

That really only applies if the need for those resources are shifted into other foods/drinks. As it stands, it *seems* as though things like brandy, ahrisa and canapes will be a thing of the past. There really aren't any existing schematics that currently require what are considered our core resources.
In all honesty, the thought of having things change and being able to learn all aspects to crafting new items is exciting, and I'm halfway looking forward to it. If only there was a way of knowing if the resources I have now will still be pertinent or not, I would be much more excited. But alas, there is no CURB crystal ball.

Honestly, i can't see the resource reqs changing for any schematics. Chef is effect by the CU, but its not directly involved, so changing schematics wouldn't be logical.

That's sort of what I was thinking too, which means that when/if mind pools are unbuffable, these stockpiles that I'm sure many of us have accumulated for all of our mind-enhancing products, will be more or less useless.

They're still good resources, its not like the only thing that uses fruits, berries, greens and flowers are the 3 mind foods.

Exactly. If nothing else, we have recipes that use "organics", and they are still good organics.
O.
