Ok, i am making my first food ever. I just got some additives, and i can't figure out how to get them into the food. I have been crafting since launch, so i don't think the answer is as basic as "oh, i forgot to open the crafting tool."
Here is the situation. I have a crate of BSNs. There is also a free BSN in my inventory (Broad Spectrum Nutrients, volume one, creator, serial##, 87 nutrition bonus). When i open the tool, it displays all my fruits, all my berries, my booz, and my containers. It does not show my BSNs, not the crate, or the singles. I clicked that button that allows me to see my whole inventory. I click on the BSN, and it will not go in. I drag it over, and it tells me i can't put it there. I am draging my BSNs over to the gray box that says additive (requires 1 medium food aditive). I have tried opening canape, and it still won't take the aditive. I am baffled. I have never experienced anything like this while crafting. Is this a known issue? Do i need to throw salt over my left sholder before i start crafting? Please help, thanks.

Ok, you may want to sit down for this one:
Food recipes don't take tissues, they take additives. Additives take tissues.
At the top of your schematic list in the crafting tool is a section for "components'. Select "Medium food additive", and the next screen will now show the BSNs in the filtered list. Combine that with 15 units of water, and out pops a medium additive that can be used to make the final food item.
If you want to do a factory run of food, you'll need to do a factory run of additives (since all the additives will need the same serial number).
The water quality has no affect on the additive, it inherits the bonus directly from the tissue with no experimentation needed.
