I love cooking in real life, but right now I don't do it much because I have this supper small kitchen and hate it. (Saving up to buy my own place soon.) But I love cooking. I once lived for a year in a place rent free. Instead of paying rent, I did the cooking 5 days a week (and many times did it the other times to because I anjoyed it so much.)

Right now I repair computers.

My reason for becoming a chef in game is not because I like cooking (cooking in real life is so much more fun.) It is because I wanted to get a cantina going for my friends. Purely a social thing.

But I was talking about this with a friend of mine n game. She is having fun shopping for her friends, and I am trying to be a cook. And this is suppose to fantasy fulfillment how? Add in shooting things and there is no difference from real live.

I would figure that most chefs ingame love to cook in real life. It's the only reason that we would have enough nervs left to stick with it. As i've said before, I make no money as a chef...but I love to cook.

The only things I cook for myself in Real Life are red baron pizzas and pastrami sandwiches. Other then that, I'm not really into cooking. I just like roleplaying a chef, since what I have tried to make in RL has always turned out "different". Although, i do make a good impression of D-Day out of brownies.

I only cook things with microwave instructions. Browning ground beef is the cutting edge of my ability.

I only wanted to be a chef in game because I'd heard that foods could be great buffs, and as a long time MMORPG gamer, I understand the value of buffs. Whether it's food, potions, spells or treknology doesn't interest me so much as the fact that it's a buff.

So basically I'm throughly disappointed with the Chef profession. I don't see "Jawa Beer", I see a buff. A really crappy buff.

I love cooking in real life! Like I said in another thread, it'a lot more fun than in this game As for a day-to-day job, it's a lot more boring -- network engineer.

To the original poster: Good luck in the CIA, it was always something I was sort oif considering.

In the future I wouldnt mind taking some culinary classes.

I'll stick to my professional student routine right now though. I have a AAS in Graphic Design, and BFA in New Media Design, and am now working on my Masters of Science Degree in Printing Technology. I also do freelance design work on the side as my own business.

I hate cooking in real life. I do it, but I hate to.

I decided to go chef because of afriends suggestion, and I have stayed with it for3 reasons:

  • There is no danger of being "just another chef" I LOVE walking up to the starport and hearing "Whoa, it's a chef!!" or "Hey, a chef, what can you make?" I just smile and hand out the samples. *wink* It's really been a LOT of fun for me. And no messy dishes to do when I'm done!

  • I work full time and travel a lot, so I don't have a lot of "competition" to keep ahead of all the other chefs out there. I can log on and grind for an hour, or I can spend time making a variety of the best stuff I make to stock my vendor. It's theraputic for me to craft, especially with the individuality of each item I make.

  • When they do fix us, I'll be ready to start mass producing some really useful products. But this is really the least of my reasons.
