Greetings Chefs,

I'm a Bio-Engineer, but I was in Mos Taike yesterday, on tatooine doing some quests, and I got some weird foods (inedible) as rewards. Worrt Caserole, Bantha Steak Soup, Tusken Bread, and Eopie Cream Pie.

The interesting thing about these foods, is that when I examined them, the recipes were written inside in the description area. I gave them to a novice chef to see if he could do anything with them, but he couldn't.

I was just wondering if any masters had done the quests, and if so, do you get to be able to make those foods or not?

The quests were a series of 4, from an NPC named Bren (forgot last name)in Mos Taike. He's the first NPC you come to when running to the city from the west (there's no shuttleport in that city) and he's standing right next to a large vegetable cart. He has no prefession listed in parenthesis after his name either. All of his quests are to go out and kill an NPC. The first one is pretty easy, it has maybe 300 HAM. The last one is pretty tough, and has around 7k HAM, but they're all single spawn NPCs so they can be done solo.

Anyway, sorry if this has already been discussed before. I've not been following the Chef boards, and only looked at the first 2 pages of threads befoer posting. But if anyone has any info, that would be great. Thanks.

You know, I recall reading an official SOE/Lucasarts press release/literature, and it mentioned that chefs and tailors both had a set number of things they could make (a.k.a. schematics) but that they might be able to learn how to make exotic foreign foods/clothing.

My guess is this is something unfinished in the game (learning exotic schematics) and probably won't get finished for many, many months.

I can see armor/weapon/droid engineers complaining and wanting something similar. However, these professions provide 'necessities' in the game...where as chef and tailor items are 100% optional (especially since human mobs drop nice clothing all the **edit** time).

I could be way wrong on this..cuz it's all just a theory based on something I read during launch week.

I was close-by so I went to Mos Taike to check it out. Unfortunately the NPC doesnt provide a waypoint of the criminal you're supposed to fight. Is it close or far away? I'm not sure where to look.

There are three more NPCs like this in Mos Taike by the way. One is the mayor, the other is by the clothing crafting station, and the last is in the cantina.

Bren *did* give me waypoints to the NPCs. They were the blue waypoint, not the red/orange quest ones, and on the datapad, it showed as a normal tatooine waypoint (orange planet) not a standard mission waypoint. They were all close, within a few hundred meters of Mos Taike.

After I logged back in I was able to see the waypoint. I completed the four quests. I thought maybe if a chef does it himself a schematic is downloaded to their data pad but nothing of the sort happened. Just Inedible food.
Even if these were new recipes for us, we couldn't make any of them. They require blue milk and bantha butter as ingredients

Maybe the force sensitive slot can turn them into a schematic? Maybe the chefs need to collect them all to open their force sensitive slot??? hmmm
