Thread: Possible change to food in patch?
Hello Chefs, Im a combat type but I thought I'd enquire about something I discovered yesterday.
I popped a Angsomething's Fishak surprise (+400 to mind, -100 to Action(?)) and to MY surprise, the mind boost was immediate.
Previously when I had eaten these things, I had to wait for my mind to build up to get the full benefit.
If this is for real, I think its a great change, and hopefully will make Chef foods more desirable ![]()
That was included in the last monthly patch (at least when it was your first buff). With the buff bug fixed, you get an instant current pool increase from any Health/Action/Mind buffs. When the buff wears off, the subtraction is done from the maximum value, reducing your current only if it's above the de-buffed max. So you don't have to worry about an incap if the buff wears off when your current is below the buff amount.
This can also serve as a short-term "heal", giving you a needed boost during combat to get in that lastcouple of hits or (for artisans trying to escape) some extra running time. One thing I noticed after taking some brawler, though, is that the "eat" command is queued up after any waiting specials,so either clear your combat queue or plan ahead. I think stims work the same way, as hidden queued commands.
I agree, this is a great addition to food. Now you get the benefit for the full duration, instead of losing some to the regen time.
And by "last monthly patch", I meant the one in October, not this new one last week which would really be the last one...
