Is it worth it with the new stuff from the Geno caves being available to CMs?

If this stuff was better it'd help with the balance problem associated with CMs and their disease and poison.

Well, it appears to give you flat odds on not having the poison stick on you. One report had a person getting poison thrown at them by a Master CM (presumably potency 100%) with a +20 Cho-no-hola. One out of five got resisted.

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say that having a cho-no-hola of effectiveness X active when attacked with a poison of potency Y would give you a (100 + X - Y)% chance of resisting the poison. Or from the CM's point of view, he has a (Y - X)% chance of getting the poison to stick.

What new stuff from the Geno cave are you worried about? Does it increase the potency (or whatever the stat name is that determines its chance of sticking) or just the power?

so what I hear you saying is that it affects the hit chance and not the effectiveness of the throw?

I thought this wasn't the case.

Like I said, it's just a guess based on some sparse test reports. It's just as possible that a +20 Cho would give you a 20% chance of not getting affected and alsoreduce the damage done by 20%, but the food's description is a little vague to say for sure.

From my testing, this stuff sucks. Initially, I thought it was gonna be something special and finally something to counter those pesky CM's. But after dueling a CM/Doc in my guild, he would land the poison every friggin time he threw it. We did this like 10 times with him poisoning me, then curing me and not once did it live up to my expectations. I don't remember the exact percentage of resist, but I did use BE additives and I have +25 on experimentation. Until I see a "Patch Update" stating that Chor-lo-crappy has been brought in line with the other foods, I won't be making it.

Well, and hopefully with that patch, CM will be brought in line with all other classes (hopefully rifleman too) for PvP. It is not fun when a class can completely take you out with no effort. I do not enjoy PVP in this game at all. If I want PvP, I log into DAoC and kill with my guild there.

Funny...I made some of this up for a guildmate who likes to PvP and he took out and field tested it. He sent me a tell later on thanking me because he was the only one in his group that didn't have a poison or disease stuck on him.

I agree with szordin. Made a couple non-be versions for a friend. He later told me that he resisted disease a couple times but the poison stuck.

against CM's on starsider who now have potentcy of around 120+% unless it was BE enhanced I dont see it worth it. However...against your flavor CM (aka newb) and against most CM's in general who can't afford the good resources, a 20+ CNH would diffenately help. Remember....thiscould save your doc partner one cure, which would make you and him last that much longer. So yes, if you have /good/ resources for it, and milk is rather hard to get in quanity and quality (only one person can milk, maybe they will add a timer....of like...2 mins or something) it is DIFFENATELY worth it for group vrs group pvp. 1v1.....no, not really. Really depends how you play, and what your template is. If you aren't a cm/doc/rifleman and your specials dont hurt your mind pool, you should be ok. And I hope you are pvping with meditate 4 in tka wound healing is a must.
