Thread: 12 Points Amazing
I posted a guild to this a while ago.. Yes about 90 percent of my scheamtics are 12 point amazings.
I give myself 25 tries to make it...if I dont then I take a lesser scheamtic.
The trick is experimenting 7-8 points at a time till you get an amazing result...that gives ALL the boxes an amazing result.
The hard part is getting the left over 3-4 points (Usually in time) to be an amazing too... This is when I pop my bespin port...and pray.
Like I said..about 90 percent of my schematics are 12 point amazings this way.
With +20 exp, +11 bespin, +15 tool, and +43 station I have never gotten more than 3 in one crafting session. It really makes that much diff to be in a crafting town?

experimenting on multiple points at one time isnt worth it even if you get an amazing it only counts for the last box selected. Getting 3 amazings and the rest great success is better than using all points at once and getting an amazing. if you dont beleive me maybe you should research it a little more
I think you might be right there Shinebox. I have not done a ton of testing but I do not believe that if you get 7 points and an amazing result it means that you just got 7 amazings. Just this morning I got a 7 amazing and then a 3 great on steak. I got the same results as I did with 8 greats and 2 amazings. I think the "amazing" result as shown is just on the last box.

Posted this question in another thread also. I thought the consensus was that assembly and experiment foods only worked for "artisan" assembly and experimentation, and gave no bonus to Food (or other specialization) assembly and experimentation.
I always figure out where the points are best spent, usually nutrition and flavor, and experiment twice (once for each line). I almost always get a two amazing result in the first 25, and if I don't go with the next best schematic.
I craft in a research center specialized city, and found that it does help my amazing experiment rolls.

That is incorrect. The port and cake work for everything, including BE. I have used port over 1000 times and never once got anything less than a great success. This can be seen real easially when making tissues. If you experiment with more than 3-4 points at a time, you often get a moderate or good success. Do a port, then experiment with 8 points it is always a great or amazing success. Same is true for chef and I would assume other professions.

I'd have to dissagree with shinebox.. not sure how the math works but on brandy as an example.. if I plow 8 points into power and get amazing.. its like having an effective 13 points.. ie it will result in the same stats had I gotten 9 points of great... so while it may not give you amazing on all the points it most definately is not just amazing on the last point.

I second that Sin - not sure what Shinebox is up to, but a 7-pt amazing is an extra point to spend, no question ![]()
The math seems pretty simple (if I understand it right, which I may not). A great is a 7% increase per-point, an amazing is an 8% increase per-point. So, a 7-pt amazing is the same as a 8-pt great (both 56%). You need to play with each recipe to see where the amazings bring home the bacon, and where they're irrelevant ![]()
