Thread: Poison Resist Foods

(This was nested in a different thread, but I thought I might get a better answer if I started a new one.)

I only ran a quick experiment, but it appeared that the resistance to poisons given by Chor Hor Noodles (or whatever the food was) is calculated *after* the potency check, and they are separate checks. What I mean is that if you are using a 100 potency or a 300 potency poison, if the victim is using a 25% resistance Chor Hor, he or she will resist about 25% of the time. (I think the system first checks if the poison will stick using potency, then checks if the victim resists using resistance modifiers.)

This was just a quick test though, and I have since lost access to my Chor Hor. Has anybody else ran any tests on how the poison resistance food works?

Yes, and that seems inaccuriate. With my normal 130 potency stuff, it was resisted once in 30 attempts using +20 cho nor whatever..

How is it calculated if you have +25 poison / disease resistant SEA's, and take the noodles.

The current state of PvP is that whoever has the best dots is the winner.....well at least it is on Shadowfire

I have a question is poison resist foods working or are they bugged.

I just want to know because i really dont want to pick up doc just to counter poisons......

The only poison resist food is Cho-nor-hoola.

Uses - 6
Fill rate - 16 (pretty small, means you have room left in your tummy)
Resist rate - 14%
Lasts - about 30 minutes

I have given you its average stats, bear in mind it's not the best a chef can make, but this is the stuff you can get made in a pinch if need be. The better the BE additive, the better your stuff will be. Talk to some chefs on your server, maybe they can help.

I think it'll go up to +25 or a little bit more, but that's not going to make much difference when you're getting hit with uber CM stuff.

What it WILL help with is DoT weapons, as the potency on those is usually relatively low. Pikemen in particular have lots of these (and are coming out of the woodwork since the Nightsisters stopped using Force powers), and if you find yourself up against one of these guys, I can see Cho-Nor-Hoola being a real lifesaver

Not quite, if you think that a lot of good pikes have a potency of 50 or 60 percent. When you take into account that they can hit you with it as many times as they want until the DOT sticks, its not much of a defense. I've never had a duel where I was beaten due to the use of Chor-Nor-Hoola.

There's also a food that reduces a dot's time, but i can't remember off the top of my head tho.

poison/disease/fire resists are calculated, with a variable R for resist:

potency - R = new potency. therefore, your max is:

potency - (R * 1.25) = new potency

this is based on food max being 25% better resistence. so the best you can do is 31.25 off potency. you'd better hope the DoT on that weapon about to play "this old man" on your a$$ has a potency of less than 70%.

Yep,
But I can't find anyone to buy it. Need have a group PVP test to see how it works.

The Cho-Nor is great for PVE btw, not so for PVP. A Doc I was with gave it a glowing recomendation after using it in the Geno caves. Allowed her to get through the gasses with no ill effects. Also works well on Endor where everything tries to poison you.
