Thread: Hello.. new Chef here
Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to say, This is my second character and I hope to become a chef eventually with this one.. I wanted to do something in the crafting area, since my first and main has no artisan skills whatsoever. What did I choose.. The least popular one next to merchant!.. I'm almost to where I can go apprentice chef, however I have noticed one major problem why chef is not a desired class, and why I never see much of anything in the form of stat foot for sale. Atleast not in the volumes it should be..
My biggest concern to stat food desirablilty and use is in the area of stat duration and consumption.. Last night I tried experimenting with many foods to see it's effect and wanted to know why 80% of the player base does not use it.. Now I know why..When you consume food/drink, the buff is so short that it doesn't equal the cost of waiting before you can eat/drink more. Over and over, I noticed that virtually all my beginner foods wear off way to fast and the length of time before I can consume more is way to long.
Granted at first one can eat/drink all they want at first, but then after that I noticed I had to wait 3 minutes before I can eat/drink ONE more item.. A mini buff for 90 seconds or 140, but then have to wait 3 minutes or so between each consumption is a pain in the neck and detours people from actually wanting to take advantage of using stat food..
I don't mind the idea of duration time NOT equalling the consumption time.. Tho I would like to see it closer to each other, but the idea of watching your Food/Drink every 3 minutes is an inconvience. I also noticed that the food/drink meter on your character screen doesnt' always show the true actual scale of "being full".. may times this is a hit or miss.. As you are required to eat/drink to get it to reset to the correct value..
Anyways, I plan on sticking with it, even with the bugs and inconviences, because it still seems like an interesting crafting class 
Bah merchants are far more popular.
