Thread: Crafting with Factories Tat. Sunburn as example
So... If I think I understand this correctly, the Maximum # of Tat. Sunburns one will be able to crank out of a factory for a given factory run is 99.
This is how I understand it.
A production run of Starshines(100) (Starshine A)
A 2nd production run of Starshines (100) (Starshine B)
---
Taking one Starshine A, and one Starshine B and some additional reactive gas to create the schematic leaves you with 99 Starshines of each run.
That's figuring that you have a sucessful experimentation with that first combination. Every additional attemp at a better schematic will decrease the number you'll be able to run.
Perhaps all this will change if/when we canunstack food items. Ie. a Starshine that's a stack of 5 is just as good as a Starshine that's a stack of 1, when creating a Tat Sunburn.... Now once we can use that Starshine of 5 to make 2 Tat. Sunburns... then we will be able to crank out a LOT of food...
Ah ok... I didn't notice that yet... thanks for pointing that out ![]()
I don't think we will ever be given the ability to unstack food. As I understand it, food in the beta was orginally single use. People did not like that so much, so they gave food "charges" in essence all they did was add an extra data field to food items in the database. So while the food appears to be a "stack" of food, it is actually 1 food item that has multiple bites.(to borrow from Liv's terminology)
It was Doc's theroy that the reason food in factorys did not come out with charges is because it was still making the old food. Pretty sound theory if you think about it. Anyway, it would be nice to be able to unstack food and get multiple identical items from one item, but I don't forsee that happening.

I have two factories up now. I had a second deed in my backpack awaiting the patch. ![]()
In one I loaded the Starshines one by one and am running 25 Sunburns.
In the other I dropped in 2 crates (25 each) and am running 50 there.
I'll let you know what happens when they are done.
/prays it works
I don't want to have to run crates of sunburns individually ... or crates of bivoli tempari individually on that note either ![]()
Anyone know if they tweeked the schematic bug? Where you have to reclaim the deed for the factory, and then rebuild the factory before being able to run another production run in a factory?? I was shocked when a friend told me what I had to do the other day while in game...
me, "Why the hell won't my factory kick out product?? it just attempts to create 1 item of the count, fails and stops."
friend reply, "Oh, you need to take all your crates out of it. reclaim the deed, and replace the factory back down again..."
me *yaw drops and hits the floor*, "Nice bug"
It seems like you can just drop crates into the factory and let it run. It's worked twice now.
OH MY GOD... that's it.
I'm sending a chocolate cake to SOE.
