Asked this in the Happy Holidays thread but its that long i think only 1 person noticed my question!

We're getting a lot of great of love for chef but there was one recurring request that used to grace this board all the time- animations for eating and drinking. I'm pretty sure I remember SirVimes himself being keen on this.

Is there any word or decision SirVimes? (I'm guessing they wont do it- fair enough- be rude to grumble after the wonders we have been promised. Just wondering)

Well I know that we had sent in this request to the devs in an earlier "Top 5/ Wish List", but it would be nice to know if they are working on it.

They had mentioned at one point in a thread that they were working on it, but who knows if they still are.

I didn't answer this? Hmmmm, thought I did.

Yes, they are on the way. No idea when it will get here, wether it would be with the chef revamp or another patch or expansion. This is something for the art department, and not the chef developer, so it might be on a completely different schedule....or maybe not. I know we are getting some new art assets witht he chef revamp.

Ok, they do this thing called motion capture, where they get an actor to perform actions, capture the actions with computer sensors and turn them into animations (same process they did for the combat moves and the original dances...and same process they used for gollum in Lord of the Rings). I know a few months ago they did a motion capture session where they did a lot of stuff. And some of the stuff they did was drinking and eating animations. They have been motion captures. Now they are turning the motion captures into animations that will work in the game. This is apparently a time consuming process to get them right....and they had a lot of motion captures.

So we will see them eventually.

Does this help?

You might have answered it, but my ability to retain any memories has been replaced by memorzing chef schematics and their buffs. I have no idea what day it is, or what I did yesterday, but I can tell you what ingredients you need for Aludium and how long the factory will take.

Yeah that's great news SirVimes. Thanks for the update. Apologies if you did already answer this somewhere else. Truth is that there is a ring of familiarity in your answer, so I guess maybe you have! Oops.
Still its good to hear it's still on the cards.
