How do you do it? I have windows xp and my hands are tired from all the clicking.

Well, this depends on what kind of a mouse you have.

For major manufacturers (Logitech, Microsoft, etc) you can change the button mapping in the "Mouse" section of the control panel. There should be a "Buttons" tab, where you can change the mapping of the extra buttons (wheel click, thumb buttons) to various functions. Double-click should be an option.

If you don't have that tab, try looking for a custom mouse configuration. Or, if you have a Microsoft mouse, install their Intellipoint software. It should be available for download of their site.

Trust me, once you set up a button for double click (I use the mouse wheel), you'll wonder how you ever got along without it, even in regular windows.

It all depends on what mouse you have. I have an Intellimouse Explorer 1.0 and I had to download the intellimouse drivers from microsoft in order to get acces to the mouse programming function in the Mouse control panel.

I'd appreciate a point in the right direction with this as well, if someone doesn't mind helping me.

I have a Logitech optical mouse with a mousewheel, and win2k, and there is no button tab in my mouse menu.
