Thread: don't add your tapes to clothes right now!

I had a shirt with 3 slots open and a +3 food exp tape installed. I added a +4 tape to it but now the +3 is gone or not showing or something..because now the shirt reads as having 2 open slots...but +4 exp instead of the +7 it should be.

If found out the tailors are having some issue like this too, so heads up if you didnt hear yet...DONT make new clothes with your tapes right now.

The way I recall from a test center post a week or so ago, multiple bonuses for the same skill won't stack on the same piece of clothing. So your +4 overrides the +3 on it before. Now whether this is because it's a higher bonus or because it was the last one put in, I don't know. I'm also not sure whether this is by design (to limit the number of tapes for a single skill to whatever the total clothing items are) or a bug.

But you can put the tapes into different pieces of clothing, and they should stack. So if you had put the +4 into a jacket, I believe you would've gotten the full +7 experimentation. Also, you can put enhancers for different skills into the same piece of clothing: a +3 food experimentation and +5 food assembly in the same shirt shouldn't conflict.

Yes, but there is still no documentation as to how to use skill enhancers so if you have any enhancers that have more than 1 bonus, then I wouldn't use it. Why? Because I had a pair of boots and I had added a +16 Combat Medic Experimentation, +25 One-handed Melee "something", +6 Droid tracking (all one enhancer) and the boots had 4 slots. This was for my Combat Medic/Doctor. So then I went to add the +7 wound treatment speed enhancer to fill the 4th slot and it OVERRODE the +16 CM experimentation. I was and still am POed over it

Always worked that way. Adding the same type of enhancement to clothing (IE another experiement tape) will overwrite the first one. Always use two different skill enahncers(or more)

There seriously needs to be a section in the manual or a guide written up about that, because that just sucks about the 3 enhancements being overridden by the better ONE enhancement. I would have rather had the 3 enhancements...

Definitely needs to be a guide to buffs so we can stop doing trial and error and losing valuable enhancers.
