I got into Chef purely because our guild needed a Chef and back in July no one had picked it up yet. I am not much of a roleplayer...I don't get into the social aspects of the game much.....all that having been said....

Why can't I walk around with a beer in my hand?

Why can't I drink the aforementioned beer and have some interesting sort of drinking emote action happen? People would enjoy this, it would add life to the cantinas, and player gatherings to have food and drink be visible in the game.

This seems like such a basic and easy to implement idea, I don't understand how it got left out of the game.

Well...I wouldn't call this easy to implement. Most of the animations in this game are done through motion capturing. That is, they base it on real people. After they motion capture it, they have to work it into already existing animations, they have to time it perfectly...I wouldn't call it easy by a long shot. There are some animations in the game that were not motion capture...and the art team has been getting a lot of complaints about these.

So yeah, this would be a big deal to add to the game.

The good news is we will probably see it in the near future. In August, Jake Rogers, the art director, asked what kind of animations we would like to see. This is what he had to say about the results:

First of all, thanks to everyone who gave feedback on social animations. You guys helped out very much. I understand that you would like to twirl your guns, you don't want to stomp your feet when you say 'wanna', you want to be able to lie down and sitonbeds, and you would like to see yourself drink and eat when you drink and eat. I have a really nice list for capturing socials (around a hundred so far), so thanks very much - really good suggestions. (yes I got through them all)

At some point after this, they had another motion capture session.

So, hopefully, in the not to distant future, this will be added.
