"Reduced the frequency of puke effect after consuming spice."

What the heck? Talk about making Chef foods even LESS appealing. Everyone I know uses spices for their buffs (for the majority). The only good thing about foods were the non after effects, now they reduce the effects of Spices but leave Chefs out in Lala land...

Bleh.

I suppose that's considered help - I haven't actually taken "Spice" myself (I consider it ebil ) but I can just imagine that the "puking" thing people do after taking it, whenever that occurs, just trod too far on the sensibilities of some people. By effect I assume they are talking more about the animation? All I ever see is the "so and so pukes" and frankly... ick. I'd rather not see that sort of emote. Frankly they could have used vomitted and it'd have been better but.. whatever. It is/was a bit frequent *shrugs* anyway that's my opinion.

Yeah, this is not cool. Do we know if they mean that they've just reduced the puke emote, or the total effect on the person? If spices are even more attractive, that will really be too bad.

I've never taken spice either but many of my PA members have. After they spice is over they experience a "puking" session and their HAM stats go down...sometimes very far down. I thought this was fine. I mean, look at the freak'in stats on those Spice!!!! They are 3x-5x better than Chef foods!!!

Now they just decreased the negatives about Spice...great. How about INCREASING the positives about Chef Foods?

Grimmstead,

That was my initial reaction too...but they still puke after it wears off (just not as much) and the amount the HAM bars go down does not change....I can live with this. I don't think it would have an effect one way or the other.

I was reading a post in the smuggler forums the other day. The correspondent asked the community what their top 5 issues were (yeah, stole his idea. ) Anyway, there were a couple that were asking for the spice to be improved to be competitive with Doctors. Sigh....thankfully, there were very few asking for this.

I just want Chef Foods to be competitive with other buff items. I'm not looking for Doctors or Spices to be worthless, but we should be on par with them. There needs to be a good reason Chef Foods are bought.

I'm still pursuing Master Chef and I hope they do fix our lines so we can be more than just a "nice to have".

Oh, I completely agree. This is my #1 (in a long list) of gripes about the chef profession. Actually, I would say that our buffs should be better than theres because that is all we do, while smugglers and doctors have other things that they can do. But ideally all three should be valuable for different reasons.

All I am saying is that if somebody pukes five times after taking spice or three times, I don't see it making much of a difference.

You do know that food & drink stack with each other and stack with spice as well, right? As a smuggler and a novice chef, I'm constantly evangelizing to people that it's the combination of the three that really makes sense in buffing.

Yeah we know they stack - doctor buff's stack too. But Spice has that downside effect, Doctor has like a range thing (I mean they have to buff you themselves), and Chef um has the Tatooine Sunburn. There are a lot of buffing foods that *do* help, it's just that they're all over the board, not nearly as long lasting as the Sunburn, and it's hard to convince people of that. Really even though I joke about it, Smugglers and Doctors aren't our competition. I think we all just want to see our buffs reach the effective levels of theirs. It does kind of hurt to see them get attention when we don't but well as long as it's just the emote itself - I'm ok with that, it was kind of gross hehe. So anyway preach on !

The burnout still lasts 3 minutes, all they did was reduce the number of puke animations during that time. (and yes, they did it because alot of players found it very offensive).

't mind that spice has insane buffs...I actually think spice buffs SHOULD be better than chef foods.

They should just have VERY bad consequences. Puking...cool. But that stat loss is where its as. As long as its a MAJOR degredation, I'm happy. I want these people to REALLY think before they down that Farie Dust. I woulnd't mind some incap time for repeated spice use.

'Bob? What incapped you?!'

'Puke....cough....the spiiiiiice.....Muad'Dib be DAMNED!!'<--more incapping

I noticed that CHEFS were not even fixed or improved any way in the PATCh. They gave everyone else nerfs and improvements. Wheres ours. Not even something in the TEst Center.

Ok ok so they added eggs.

But thats over shadowed by what they did with spice.
