Thread: only getting 1 sunburn per make help :(
Make sure to use all your exp points to increase your SS's
I have never worked with gas that bad (unless you count the double bean burito kind) ...but I think you should be able to get 2 maybe 3 out of it.

Is that a bottle of Milk in your pocket? or are you just happy to see me?
thanks for all the replies so far guys.
I found a slightly less icky 475q resource, but it looks like for the good stuff, i'm going to need to venture off planet or hope that someone starts selling it in the bazaar again.
If I can get even just 2 out of each batch, at least there will be some modicum of profit.
I am trying to max out the starshines but let me make sure which of the three choices I should be throwing in. I know I don't need to put any into quantity, but do you usually spread your points across the remaining two equally, or only go for one?
Thanks again for the help, I've been lurking in the forums for a while now and this was my first post ![]()
Starshine quality has no effect on Sunburn (as is the case with any component that is edible.. dough quality does have an effect), unless this sneakily got changed in yesterday's patch. Don't bother experimenting on Starshine, instead:
1. Use higher quality reactive gas.
2. Get high effectiveness crafting tools (reduces your chance of failure)
3. Improve your cooking skill
At cooking II I can get up to 6 uses on Sunburn.
I agree sub components make no difference and the only stat on the gas that matters is OQ. I have tried several different gases testing that. Was lucky and got lots of gas that was 998 qualityi only use it for the last stage in sunburns as the gas is no longer there.
Guys, I was so excited that I hit Mixology 2 today and could finally make sunburns.
But when I do the combine (manually) I only get 1 use each time. I've tried 4 times in all.
I have two guesses, maybe you all can help me figure it out.
1) I have experimentation 1 and a +3 skill modifier to experimentation. I thought perhaps that wasn't high enough to get the good quality and quantity needed. When i experiment I get only 3 points and there is a 38% chance of failure each time.
2) Reactive gas is extremely scarce on my planet. I was finally able to locate a site but the quality is only 320. Perhaps it's the bad quality that is driving it down? I don't think I will be able to find anything better here and nobody in my galaxy is selling it on the bazaar.
Thanks for any help.
(and btw Wyan_Warbringer, did you play DAOC on Igraine/Albion? If so, say hi to Maire the WC and Lanthanum the Tailor)
Also, +3 isnt good enough to get another point. You seem to get experiment points at +10 skillintervals. You also get decreased failure rate at +10 intervals (Look at the skill progression in the skill boxes)
I have +9 assembly if I equip my slotted clothes, and don't get a benifit yet. when I find another assembly mod, ill see how it goes.

a little update for you. I tried again with the new slightly-less-crappy reactive gas and I'm now able to get 2-3 uses per batch. I have to put all 3 points into quantity to get it though, and between that and the quality of the gasmy final stats are only 1515-1527.
For now, I've decided to sell thesesince the stat boost is stillamazing, but I'm selling it at a reduced price. I'm calling it a "special introductory rate" ![]()
I'm going to be looking offplanet for a better quality resource to mine and work towards getting Cooking II so I can hit that magical "1560".
Ithorian Mist, take me away!
Well guys, i think I have the definitive answer now -- it's the quality of the reactive gas.
By asking around, I managed to find someone who had 969q(!) just lying around, and he sold 2k of it to me.
With nothing else changed but that, I am now getting +1563 and 4 uses!!!
In the words of the Rolling Stones, it's a gas gas gas.
