Forgive me if this is answered elsewhere - I'm trying to keep up with everything but you know
I got the impression from a remark in another thread that there might be times when you can use mediocre ingredients instead of the usual high-quality resources in some recipes.
Would that be for the components, like carbosyrup and containers? Any other places?
I just want to make sure I'm not wasting the good resources in places where it doesn't matter.
Thanks,
Haala

Live servers: components made with better quality resources and experimentation do yield better results in the final item. However, the lower-level components (carbosyrup and dough, mostly) have a smaller contribution to the stats. From some testing I did a month or two ago, carbosyrup adds 5-20 to the buff size, and about 5-10s to the duration. So it's a matter of whether you want to use up 999/999/999 flora food in the carbosyrup for only a 10 point increase. I usually use resources with 5-600 in flavor/PE/OQ so I can experiment to 50% in both Flavor&Texture and Nutrition. For Aludian, that component seems to add 50-150 to the final buff, so using good radioactive/metal/cereal/fruit in that has a much greater effect.
After revamp: component quality has no effect on the final product. So you can use cheap, grind-quality crap for carbosyrup, alcohol, containers, etc and not worry about impairing your final food/drink.

Sub component quality does not matter, so use crap for barrels, glasses, casks, alcohols, soypro, protato, carbosyrup, and food additives. However, food tissues made by the BE do rely on good resources. Have I missed anything anyone?

Cool thanks! I think I'm just going to concentrate on making components until the patch hits.
And it's nice not having to use the ubar resources to do it.
