What are the chefs on TC paying? any ideas on what a good cost would be? Fair to the crafter and fair to the chef?

Casks and Barrels are already going to murder us on the resource cost

But I want to make 'em, that's for sure

I am not on TC but I dont think these will be too expensive. They really do not take too many resources. I would just set up a bunch of harvesters one day that you have nothing to really harvest thats good. That should get you enough resources for awhile.

I got 10 factories running atm, and i buy my resources... ughh... i'm planning to drop my factories to half and drop harvestors down on metal and gemstone.... cuz 300k of nonferrous just to make 1000 units is a little nutz, but whatever, i can't spend 3cpu on that hehe

just not enough time/desire to resource out the minor components as well.

2k per crate seems too cheap for the trim, 3cpu it works out to like 1875 per crate of 25, *40... that's only 7k profit for a full factory run

any ideas?

My suggestion is to become a master artisan and have a tailor make you several schematics for trim if you are planning on using trim. You will need a wareables factory to make the trim though.

Master artisan isn't so bad, can make speeders too. Those actually sale pretty good.

I am also curious about this. I am sure it has been answered elsewhere and I just didnt notice it. It should be made by food factories but it contains parts that are nonchef related.

A decent price for the artisan will probably be around 4cpu. This is assuming quality of the componets doesn't mean a thing. At that point if they buy the resources for 3cpu the crafting is still making a little profit.

I had to track down Power Conditioners and another master artisan component in bulk and I found it really hard (on Infinity)

In the end I cut my own throat on one deal (which still took 2 days) and tired of waiting for that I caved in, took down a harvester, bought myself an Equipment Factory and talked one of my suppliers into making me schematics

While quality doesn't seem to matter they require several different resources.

What's more most Master Artisans are either there for a quickie holo checklist tick or to make vehicles. I doubt half the people with Master Artisan above their head even know they have these schematics

As a tailor I sell crates of cloth and panels to armorsmiths at 4 cpu so a crate of 25 tims would be 2500. I don't do it on a regular basis because while it seems like an easy money I actually make more money if I use them in clothing. And it's easier to keep them in stock. I don't think I'm going to sell trims as I'm sure I'll be busy making them for my own use. But I can make schematics for any chefs on Naritus who want to run the trims in their own factories.

You can probably talk to and DE about buying some of those units. Master Artisan is pretty much required for MDE. I haven't seen the droid business take off so they might be able to run some 1000 count runs in a factory a few times a week. There should be at least one DE on your server that would be willing. Again I would expect to be paying 4-5cpu for them. Possibly lower if you will be buying on a regular basis. That just comes down to business. You have to make it worth their time to make it, but they have to make it worth your time to buy a lot of them.

Honestly I never considered the resources at all. Chefs usually have to have 15-30+ depending how many foods them make so 4-5 more very easy metals isn't to hard to get.

I decided it would be much less hassle to just go MA. I had to drop 2 full trees of pistoleer to manage it, which annoyed me quite a bit, but I can cope with that. Luckily my regualar tailor is decent, so I can buy schematics for trim from her at a good price and run them myself, mainly because most tailors Ive spoken to hate making trim for themselves, let alone mass producing it for a chef.
