Thread: What is the max modifier for veghash?

The guide says +11-18 but I've seen people talking about +30 or more ????

And if you're on starsider I'll pay well for the maximum possible veghash!

Thanks.

30+ is BE enhanced (I used a medium one for a 30.summing Veghash). It remains to be determined if the resulting improve in harvesting is worth the high price for the BE enhancement.

Well I'm using +15 and a kaadu that usually nets me 20 units now gives about 23-24 units so I assume it works much like a percentage, if I am right I would pay out the nose for +30

It is not a percentage but a skillmod of +30. Thus if you have Tracking I you'd harvest as if you'd have Tracking IV or you'd harvest better than a Master Scout at Novice Scout level for example.

A +50 in the harvesting skill (Scout -> Ranger) results in about 30% increased yields. Dunno if the result of a +30 can directly be extrapolated to be an 18% increase in yield - as someone reported that a +12.5 Veghash increased his yield from 69 to 74 units though (five samples) it can be assumed that this is valid.

Crosspost from the Ranger board:

OK, taking the data from this [the Ranger board one ] thread:

+50 = 30% increase
+12.5 = increase from 69 to 74 units = roughly +7.5%

It can thus be extrapolated that the +30 would bring an 18% increase in harvests.

If you harvest 10 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get 11.8 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest 50 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get59.0 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest70 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get82.6 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest 100 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get118 with the +30 Veghash
If you harvest300 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get354 with the +30 Veghash

OK, is it worth the BE enhancement? I would probably sell the standard Veghash for about 75-100 credits per use while the +30 stuff with a BE enhancement would have to be 600 per use if the current trend of 2k per medium BE additive remains and *only*that price is directly added to the price of the Veghash. 600 for 12 minutes of harvesting.

For the +16 Veghash the numbers would look as following:

9.6% increase in yield

If you harvest 10 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get 10.96 with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest 50 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get54.80 with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest70 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get76.72 with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest 100 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get109.6with the +16 Veghash
If you harvest300 units of a critter without Veghash you would thus get328.8with the +16 Veghash

Do we give up on this or would anyone buy it?

Id use it on my combat alt. I could take 2 brandies, one canape, one veghash, and synthsteak while Im at it, allowing me to kill faster. I am usually able to find a doctor so my HAM will be ok to go. This is definately worth it. You get more out of what you are doing for little price. What I am going to do as a chef is offer say a free 10 stack crate of veghash for every 15k-20k of meat brought in, with payment of course. This will net you more meat faster (assuming said hunter stays in buisness with you) and provides incentive to your hunters.

PSKstang, that is EXACTLY what I'm trying to find a chef for on starsider. Very good and fair deal.

As far as the veghash goes, I know lots of BE's that I'm sure will give me enhancements for product, to which I can give the chefs the enhancements and organics for product which basically means free stuff for me as usual, but lots more legwork and less for them as usual as well .

As long as it was a fair price, I'd buy crates of the max possible veghash. Even 8 units more per harvest adds up quickly.

Actually, I am on starsider and I will be making a similiar offer. That and 10k of meat for non BE-enhancedbrandy. I just need a few more resources.

Good Idea, maybe theyd prefer food instead of credits. Ill have to start messing around with numbers but this might work out. Thanks for advice.

I made a few crafts of this for my own use and put some singles up on my trail vendor. I think it was 33 I cant remember. It is low filling, but only last 13 minutes or so. So basically you take on per layer. Not sure if it is worth it in the end due to the low timing on it. Try it out and see how much of a difference it really makes and if it is worthwhile. It may cost more resources than what you get, not sure. It may be worthwhile for exp grinding scout and what not.
