Ok I see al this experiment on traps camps etc, (embarrased being a master scout) could someone tell what the hell it is? I thought once you put the items together you can't go back. Thanks!

Experimenting is a way to improve the stats on crafted items after the raw materials have been assembled but before the finished item is put in your inventory. To experiement while crafting, you need to craftnear a crafting station and usea specific crafting tool, not the generic tool. You use experimentation points to attempt to improve various stats. You also run the risk of a "critical failure," which makes the stats worse.

It is widely used by artisans, weaponsmiths, medics etc. to improve the stuff they make. As best as I can tell, though, experimentation does not work at all on scout items. Apparently, this is a bug and is being looked at.

HOWEVER...they borked experimentation on scout items (traps, camps) in a recent "patch". Apparently they claim that they didn't know whether it was working or not, so decided to turn it off. In fact, it did work (however rarely), and I had several instances where I was able to make traps with more uses or that were more effective.

Of course, I have no way of knowing whether they'll turn it back on, so I now use the crappiest components possible, since they don't affect the outcome in any way.

hi all, i have some question about the experiment in making parts and droid deed. I have read some DE Q&A, guides, and a droid quality experiment note in the link below, but i still don't understand how to spend the experimentation point for....

example 1: manipulator arm
after i put all the material in, and go to the experiment page, i found that there were two bars that i can experiment, one is Durability, the other is mechanism, althought i can see the number s increase while i put the points in, but i don't know what they stand for....

example 2: deed for R2 droid ADV model
i got three bar this time, durability, effectiveness and quality. when i put points into the effectiveness bar, the droid HAM increased. but when i put into the others bar, i cannot see anything happen.

may i know the meaning of these experiment terms stand for? hehe

thx in advance

Experimentation is only worthwhile in Effectiveness at the moment. So dump all your points into Effectiveness.

Not true for Droid Repair kits, as you can increase both Effectiveness (which raises Energy) and Charges (which raises Charges, duh!)

Everything else, just dump into effectiveness.

BTW, experimentation only matters in modules (combat, medical, storage etc), repair kitsand final assembly of a droid. Everything else is basically a waste of time. Although it may have an effect in the future, so you might as well experiment to the fullest before sending it to the factory.

But good news! Since you're (I'm assuming) human, you'll be able to have 14 pts if you get an artisan suit and 4440 artisan
