Sorry to have to post this, and I'm not going to try to use the Chicken Little ideas (the sky is falling). What I would like to know is suggestions about existing foods. I know that nothing concrete or anything, but what I'd like to know is what will happen to our existing recipes and crates of food once it goes live? For instance, I'm sitting on around 300 crates of food ranging from high end brandy, ahrisa, canape, bivoli, pikatta pie, synthsteak, and exo. From the sounds of the new ham system, it sounds like none of those are going to be around, much less do anything for you. Do I craft my heart out and run as much as I can before the upgrade or when it goes live, are all of my foods going to give the dreaded "this item does not exist, please delete"?
I honestly don't know what to think about any of the changes. I'm scared from a chefs standpoint because I've spent millions upon millions gathering the very best resources on Lowca to craft with. The chef revamp gave us plenty of good foods that were NECESSARY and HELPFUL to all professions. They made us a necessary profession. I don't know whether we will have yet another revamp or if the food schems we have are going to do totally different things. I just need to figure out whether or not if I have 200 crates of food on my vendor, they're going to go poof, or if I need to just have a fire sale to get rid of everything.
Any thoughts or rumors? I won't hold anyone to anything, I just want to get some ideas.

they will probably do the 'this does not exist' thing, because otherwise people would just horde food/drink in preperation for the cu

I think the foods that are going to be in demand will change to pvp type stuff. Thaktillo, vegaparasine, air cake, synthsteak and the like. Mind foods wont be as important. I've been educating my customers on this stuff and slowing down the mind food production to just keep with demand. I've also taken to labeling my foods with what they do as well as the name for those who browse baazars.

Its not going to be useless. It will be converted into the new system. The devs have stats all crafted items that are ingame will have their stats converted into the new system.
Infact its one of the biggest things they are doing, which is taking more time than simply doing the "this item does not exist" way.

The drain stats are going. But the regen stats remain.
Its yet to be seen how the food effecting the drain stats will be convert or dealt with.

I thought that there were going to be no more state defenses after the CURB? And everything was going to be melee/ranged? I was pretty happy because I started making some +403/51:30/49 brandy and now they're taking it away!
I just want to figure out whether to load up vendors and houses with "pre nerf" food, or if anything on my vendor is going to be useless and I'll have used up a lot of high quality resources and wasted them. That's my only concern.

The existing food crates will explode, taking any vendors, buildings, or players with them. So make sure you fill your inventory with these right before the CU goes live and logout in an enemy base or city so when you log in again you'll deal the most damage to your foes.
(note: It's late and I had to have a little fun)

My Chef is my alt for my MCH/BE toon, and unfortunately I just got to make my first V Brandy last week.. :-) and now with the CU coming up (which I am testing and liking so far), I am spliting all my crates in to 5's so ppl wont feel like they are buying something that will just not use post CU. Other than that I am just gathering resources and only making stuff for my MCH/BE{3344/medic.

I don't think that brandy will be taken away, I believe they may convert it to enhance the new mind pool where specials are drawn from. I am sure it won't be as dramatic as brandy has been for us but still a usable and wanted entity.

I spent all last night searching through concept and testing boards and still can't find anything but gossip in regards to chef. I don't know whether to keep grinding or give it up! I have a TON of brandy, as much of you probably do, and I am worried it will not be able to sell for as much <if at all> after the cu. Is there anywhere we can go to see what new food/drink items we will be crafting and what we will be losing? I realize they are not trying to do away with the chef profession, but it seems that they are kicking it around quite a bit. A LOT of food/drink that is crafted effects secondary stats, what is to become of it all? If anyone could point me to a thread that deals with these questions, or if you have answer, please share.. anyone here on tc5? Is it panic time or shall I keep grinding?

I'm just hoping that the conversion of existing foods works... i have more than 2500 (2.5k) crates of 25 of the various foods stocked on my vendors total. That's more than 60k of single units of food/drinks. That's a LOT of cash.
But we'll see... i have totally stopped the production of foods and drinks this month before the CU. Gonna let as much of it sell out as possible. Just in case.
