I use this macro and get tons of milk with very little effort:

Having a repeating macro to ensure constant mask scent is about the best you can do.
Unless there's a way to access radial options with a /command (other than the 1st, which can be used with "/ui action default" or something similar), then you can't macro milking. Targetting the creature, hitting the "~" key (for the radial menu), waiting a second (or more if things are laggy), then hitting "4" (for "gather milk") doesn't strike me as a particularly tedious task, though.

They cut it out because harvesting milk from dead creatures was never supposed to be the milking method, not because they couldn't get it work right.
Actually, I think the removal was more of a side effect of a fix for scouts/rangers. You used to be able to do "/harvest bone" or "/harvest hide" on creatures that didn't have bone or hide (spiders, for example, only have meat). You didn't get anything, but it did mark the creature as "harvested" so you couldn't try to grab stuff that was actually there. They put in a fix where you get an error if you use the /harvest command on any resource type other than the ones displayed on the radial, and you are still allowed to harvest what is there. Since milk isn't on the harvest radial menu of a dead animal, you cannot /harvest milk.

lol i wish that worked for me on valcyn 
i gotta offer 50 cpu for it and still get very little... dang rangers only wannaspend their time on stuff like the awesome insect meat on yavin, oq/pe/fl all over 940.
