This is just my opionon ..Please dont delete this ...as i feel its warrented..
But right now Chef could use a little love ..To many of the foods do the same thing..ALOT of the foods are completly useless ..ALOT of people are not interested in paying for foods like steak that last 28 seconds ( lol wth ) ...IT seems like the proffession in the CU world is being LOOKED past ...
A new food or two would be nice ...as alot of profs get new things added ALL THE TIME .. ( armorsmith - ws - entertainers ).....I can understand the dev team didnt have much time to really put much time into chef ...None the less , theirs alot of us still out here ..and something NEW for us would be much appreciated ..
( attack speed food ) ?
( fix melee / ranged defense ) ?
( improved luck food ) ? ( if their is such a thing as luck ...lol )
I think its time Chef got something new to craft , whatever that might be .. Mando Wine was nice precu .. Now that its the same as BOH ..its useless ... Besides the Crafting Utensils ( lol ) ....we havent seen anything in a long time ..

i'm gonna hafta go ahead and disagree. mostly cuz whenever they try to fix stuff they just break everything that was working. and your example of synthsteak is incredibly useful, despite the short timer. i make and use 38%, 46 second steak and it's saved my sorry ass dozens of times. in fact in big pvp i only use low filling artisan stuff for ham buffs in favor of the extra filling i can devote to steak, ruby bliel and maybe a little corellian ale (even though it doesn't help jedi much).
plus i can't price mando wine high enough to not run out of it in a day or two. it's like a full ham buff in one dose
essentially there have always been things that were useless in chef. even right after the chef revamp there was a lot of different things that people weren't really interested in using. i just think there are a lot of other profs that need love first. i mean at least we can craft a decent range of items and sell it without too much hassle from bugs.

Could we do with a few new foods? Of course we could. Are we as in bad a shape as AS or Tailors? Of course not.
Lets get the things that are broken fixed (like synthsteak) then we can look at getting some new foods.

We are affected by a new bug too...see my Publish 20 and Crafters post....all crafting professions are affected by the new bug. Though as I'm also a Tailor on one toon, I can tell you we are functionally in better shape than Tailor ( since they have factory bugs and the tissue bugs really hammering them...they need a fix soon ...AS too )

Yeah the new bug is nasty, but as far as i aware it only effects WS doesn't it?
Like i say, we could do with new content, and am pushing for our fixes to go through (especially the bug with event triggered foods) but there are more urgent bugs in other professions that could seriously do with it more.

It affects all crafting professions.........I tested chef, bioengineer, medic, artisan, armorsmith, and shipwright on life about 2 pm ET....as of then it was affecting them all.

I don't think Chef is in a bad way at all. I am enjoying it and yes there are bugged food but still enough for me to craft. Guess I am someone who thinks the glass is half full....
Personally I think we're not as badly off as other crafting profs and thats why we've gotten very little love as it were. If they'd buggered more up maybe there would be more stuff for us.
