Thread: Cheffing.. IMHO
I'm not speaking to you here as a chef, but as a player that would like to depend on chef items with purpose.
I've played since day 1 and currently working on my 2nd character to get her to master chef. I only do this for a pure hobbie, because as it is now in the game, NO one but a few want chef stat foods.. So many times I don't even bother to make it to sell or give away because no one seems to want it..( even for free ).. How sad..
I have notice as many of you have noticed that Stat buffs from chefs are not only smaller then their counterparts, but the duration times are totally screwed up. The duration on how long a stat buff last is way to low. 90 seconds? bah humbug.. Then compound that with the fact that the 'retake' timer to consume more food/drink is always 2 times longer then the buff itself, this is just too much of an inconvience.. The 'cntrl c' option so one can check their hunger/thirst level never shows the correct chart unless you relog, reeat or zone in by taking a shuttle. I have noticed that many complain about the factories too.. I have no clue if this bug is still there, or if other problems exist now.. but I will touch upon what I feel should be in place. Here are the areas that need attention and fixed to make chef a noticable profession and just not a wasted hobby to play with..
1) Increase the stat buff durations to minutes, NOT seconds.. Beginning items should have atleast a few minutes of buff, while master advance items can last for 30 minutes or longer..
2)The factors of what determines if you can consume more food or drink.. needs to be exactly the same as the buff duration. If I take a stat buff food that last for 5 minutes, then I should be able to retake that same food as soon as the first one wears off. There should be no "dead zone" area where you have to wait minutes or longer before you can consume more.
3) Factories.. What I believe factories should do.. I don't want factories ONLY making one item at a time, however I don't want them spitting out dozens or hundreds at a time in 5 minutes.. Factories should process food/drink at a rate of 100 per hour.. I use the 100 only based upon the first two 1) and 2) being fullfilled as well..
As for the other areas of concern such as BE suppliments , etc., those are only minor things that need looking into.. In conclusion I feel that for the chefs to have an important influence in the economy and game play of SWG, 1 & 2 definately need looking into and changed..
