Does it use artisan experimentation or chef experimentation? Would i be able to make better novice artisan foods if i had chef experimentation points? Would wearing a chef's apron help with the crafting of these things?

Thank you

Novice artisan foods use artisan experimentation, so the only things that can help are being human and having some artisan exp. tapes.

You can max out at +14 experimentation with the human bonus, the eng. and dom. arts branches and +20 in experimentation points from tapes.

Being human adds +15 so you'd need +25 in tapes.
