Thread: /mailsave command problems?

Hey guys - I've posted this in the tech support forums... thought I'd paste it here too and see if any of my fellow chef's have had similiar issues.
Just last night I noticed a problem. As a crafter I track all my sales and download all my in-game e-mail on a daily basis using the mailsave command, then I use "The Merchant's Friend" to analyze them. Well I hadn't downloaded in a while and when I tried to last night it would start... but never finish. Oddly it seemed to be getting "hung up" at a certain point.
Originally I had 500+ e-mails (I know, I know... I'm a packrat! )... anyhow it would start to download, it tells me it is requesting 500 messages...and then after waiting several minutes I still had not gotten the msg saying it was complete. Running the command again told me it was requesting 183 messages... and again no complete msg. Any subsequent runnings of the command would keep telling me requesting 183 messages... whereas in the past when I did this the number would always get progressively smaller until it finally completed. I deleted several old e-mails and tried again... same thing... it just got "stuck" at a different number.
This morning I ran test... I re-named the mail_Moebius folder to mail_moebiusbak to try to force it to create a new folder. I entered the game... ran the /mailsave command... same thing. But it never even created the folder.
So now it stands thus... out of 200 something emails... it gets stuck at 23 messages. I tried deleting both the 23rd message form the top and 23rd from the bottom - no effect... it just gets stuck at 22 now I beleive.
Any ideas??
I have the exact same problem and have had for several months. I suspect that my ingame profile needs rebuilding. I have been tempted to make another char my merchant and move it all across but I simply don't have time and it is too daunting for me to consider seriously!!!
If you make any progress on this I would be more than interested to know as I am desperate to track my sales and see who my recurring customers are to be able to provide a better service.....

Actually I was able to resolve the issue pretty simply, albeit it was not my favorite solution. I had to delete several e-mails.
I had noticed that while cycling through my inbox there were mails here and there (luckily all old ones) that would simply not display... it would just sit there saying downloading msg, while allthe others would pop right up in a no more than a few seconds. I figured hell... if these msges won't even display here... maybe that's what's holding my download up seeing as how it was always getting stuck at the same number of messages. I figured maybe it was these "sluggish" messages. So I cycled down deleting all the problem ones (no real order, just random but all old ones)... and suddenly as I deleted the last problem one I got the "mail saved successfully" msg (I had laready typed the command before I started).
SO... somewhat annoying and I have NO idea what started itbut at least I've been problem-frree since! Might want to give it a try and see if it helps you!
Interesting!! I must have 5000+ mails and its at the point that I now don't check them as when I do I ahve enough time to get a coffee!!!
I may try the emptymail command and to start again from scratch!! Nice to know that this "should" fix things as I've been really feeling that I'm missing out by not beinmg able to do this!! Must admit a lot of my mails don't display or just take a very long time to display so I think you're right on why the problem is occuring!
Sadly I won't be able to test this for at least a week but it will be one of the first things I do!!
