I've recentley started a new toon with the hopes of becoming a chef. Someone I knew gave me a little money to start out on, but its not much. Sooner or laterI'm going to run out of money. So I'm curious what everyone else did, without no combat skills, to make money before they became a masterchef?

I'm sad to say, i didn't bother trying till i had master to try and make money.

The way the system works means its very difficult to make money without master due to the experimentation points, and the general need of the mass public wanting only the best, some more vigerously than others.

I didn't attempt any food crafting until I was a master chef with a full expermentation suit.

Some have sold things as they gained the skills to make them, but I knew that if I was going to be a chef, I wouldn't bother selling my wares until they were the best they could be.

There is no money before master.

Artisan foods are easy to craft and can generate some money while grinding Chef.
Especially Blob Candy, Spiced Tea and Exo Wafers are good to start with.

Find the grinding spot....on Radiant it is Mining Outpost, Dantooine.

I agree on the artisan foods as being the easiest to make and really the most sought after. They take so few resources and the profit margin is huge.

Have your inventory full of the foods and drinks that grinders like (Blob Candy, Spiced Tead, Kanali Wafers, Ruby Bleil, Crispic) and stand next to the mission terminal with your advertisement going. Grinders fear that they will booted from the group if they leave planet to visit their normal chefs and will settle for the product that is easiest for them to obtain....yours. As long as it is not real bad stuff and decently priced, you can make a nice profit and some loyal customers along the way. Wouldn't hurt to keep the bazaar loaded with singles at that spot as well. Let them know that you are not afk and you should sell out in about an hour or two.

I sold loads of Tatooine Sunburn on my way to master. Thats not very useful to you now.

I would imagine the three main Artisan sellers would sell great. Blob Candy, Bofa Treatsand Spiced Tea.

I should of read all the messages. Yes.. Crispic(both types) and Ruby Bliel are also great sellers.

Crispic sells great in two flavors. A nutrition additive to pump up the Melee accuracy and a duration additive for the ranged customers.

Another avenue to consider is making runs of subs for people. For those, experimentation doesn't matter. The most tedious of all the subs is Casks, so you might get some chefs would would out-sorce those if the price was right. A full run of casks is also only 20 crates so easier to carry around for deliveries. Runs of alcohol might be another option, but now you are delivering 40 crates at a time. I'd post on your server's trade forums to see if there is any interest from people in outsourcing these sub-components.

true. i'd dearly love to be able to buy 40 crates of junk-stat veghash to make 20 crates of vegeparsine. the veghash schematic comes at entrees 2, and it requires a subcomponent itself so it's a pain to make but vegeparsine is by far my biggest seller, would be fantastic to speed the process up some.

I sold artisan stuff first on the bazaar, then on a vendor once I could place one

Sad to say, get +25 artisan exp sea's and dont bother with chef. You will make more money selling artisan foods than you will selling chef foods. At least that is how my server, Gorath is

i guess it varies by server. last time i totalled everything up my top sellers were vegeparsine (#1 by a mile), mando wine, blob candy, spiced tea, won-wons and exo-protein wafers. yes 3 of those 6 are artisan foods, but as far as 'make more money' i charge higher prices and get more profit off the 3 that are chef foods.
