Thread: Hologrinders: A blessing and a curse
I had no inclination to become a Master Chef until my holo. But, Ienjoy trying new things and I'm even going to take some levels in buisness so I can place a food vendor!
I am sure there are other people like myself that look at holo's as an opportunity to explore other aspects of the game.Also,before the abundancy of holo's,it had become hard to get appand the competition to train people wasbrutal. Now, there is more opportunity tomaster different professions.
The downside, of course, is that other players do not take you seriously. Hologrinderswho are learning withthe sole intentionof unlocking FS, can sometimes be rude and have no respect for thoseof us who are genuinley enjoyong our profession. This makes other chefs look to all who ask for training and advice with suspicion and, at times, hostility.
Please do not judge us all by a fewcrass people. I do hope that when I needadvise (like, where do I get milk from) I get it from someone who is proudof thier knowledge and willing to share it with aaspiring novice.Of course, it is up to me to show the proper courtesy to my fellow chefs, but that is expected no matter what you do.
For everyone who is loosing patience with the hologrinders, take heart; this will not last forever!

My only problem...we have a wonderful FAQ written by sciguyCo and a wonderful guide to grinding started by Ritualistic and everybody contributed. Most answers are in there (for now, things changing soon).
What get'smy goat is when people ask, "How do you grind" when we have a thread stickied to the top saying "Guide to the grind." And there was a time where we were flooded with these requests.
If people make a half way decent attempt to find stuff themselves, then I have absolutely no problem with them and welcome them to the board. If they don't...well, still welcome them but that is my pet peeve.
But in general, I don't mind hologrinders at all as long as they make an attempt to be friendly.

ad infinitum. This is all any of us want from the hologrinders. A little courtesy and respect.
Take the original poster for example. I liked his post. It was well written, and courteous. It discussed an actual topic giving viewpoints. It's all in the approach.
"Plz 4 to grind UbarFastestest Chefz0r!!!!!11!! OMG Holocron ! ROFL HELP!!!2" is what most of us can't stand to see here.
I personally took up the chef profession about 2 months ago. I never posted a thread about what to grind or how to grind, or what resources to gather or how to fix my macro. The reason? The stickies and info already present completely covered all of that. It was absolutely unneccessary for me to make a thread asking any questions in order to work my way up through Chef. All that was required was the initiative on my part to do the slightest amount of research here.
If I could do it, I don't think it's expecting too much to ask others to take the time and spend the same effort I did.
The real problem is that most people don't takeinto accountthat we (the people in this forum) do not come as part of the service. Our knowledge and experience is our own and we share with those who come to this forum equally. We hide nothing, it simply takes 2-5 minutes to find nearly anything you want to know about chef (or any other profession for that matter). I think all we've ever asked for was courtesy...I don't even care about respect...hate my profession...lol ok...just don't steal my car and then ask me for directions when trying to escape...
The people I have issues with are those that cant be bothered to even read the sticky posts, that contain 99.999% of hte info they need, but expect us to take time to answer the same questions over & over ad nauseum :/
Holo Chefs that take time to read & search are welcome here. Some will even stay as Chef for a while because they find it enjoyable. Others will drop it the minute they master it.
Whichever kind they are makes no difference to me at all, as long as they make an effort themselves.
I am quite happy to help people that are genuinely in need of advice

im also hologrinding out chef and hope to do it in a few days soon as the gathering is done. i found your guide to corroborate nicely with my own findings in what to grind. after doing bio engineer this one shouldnt be half as bad and the tone in these forums is 10x nicer than the rudeness from the BE crowd.
Well, I have to admit, I'm guilty of SirVimes' pet peeve. 
But I found thatyou chefswere still really nice in pointing me to the stickies. Can't say that for too many people. Thus, I give you my respect in return and promise to read all the stickies before asking any more questions. Ok, so I've already read them all; great stuff. You guys are very helpful. I hope I can return the favor.
