Thread: How Many Schematics Do You Use Regularly?
This comes from reading the other thread about the upcoming changes to the artisan foods. It seemed like a lot of people were mentioning they only make about 4 differentfoods.
I currently have 28 I make regularly, with a couple more I do when folks request it!
Maybe my customers just like a buffet
or they're just more informed about food in general, but they seem to buy a variety of foods.
It does take a lot of time to get all the resources but I've been able to develop a good support network of resource suppliers and friends.
Is there anyone else who is stocking/selling more than just a few kinds of foods?
There are about 6 schematics that are my main staple, but I try to keep a good variety up just so that I don't get bored.
So, how do you feel about loosing schematics? It will deffinitely be more than 28 (I think it will be somewhere around 80 or 90 instead of the 109...but don't quote me on that.)

Quality not quantity, SirVimes ![]()
I'd rather have a suite of varied but useful and in-demand foodsthan many many foods of which most are only novelties.
I wanted to ask you SirVimes, Something I could not find out for myself. The whole proffession is going through the revamp but are we going to get a art revamp as well. I ask this because last night I finaly got enough plates to decorate the PA hall Cantina and City hall. I was haveing a blast doing soo(I know call me a dork) But I really enjoyed people comming to those places checking out what I got to offer and making it look good.
Also on another note. Do you know if we are able to keep the good schematics? Plus if you can have them look into a food factory times while they create the items?
(Sorry about highjacking thread)

Kwee, SWGWarcry Are there plans to add new tailoring schematics in the near or far future? There was talk of dancer clothing at one time, is that still in the works? And can we expect to see other new types of clothing?
Jake Rodgers We are going to be bundling new assets with the planned revamps of professions. I believe chef is going to be one of the first, but yes- entertainers, combat professions, medics, etc. will be looked at when we work with design to do a pass on their respective professions.
We also have been discussing making some of the non-craftable items craftable.
food factory times: Yes, they are looking into improving this in the revamp. They are lowering the complexity of the items which is what decides crafting time.
A big WOOT on lower factory times!!
To answer the original question -
3 schematics are always running in at least one factory (BoH, Fishak, Ryshcate)
13 others carried on vendor
1 available by special order
14 items stocked on my vendor in the town cantina (booze and munchies, purely for RP value)
So a total of 31... yikes, no wonder I'm so busy ![]()

I am very much in favor of reducing the number of schematics and simplifying the profession in any way possible. There are only about 20 schematics which can even be considered useful right now anyway. If those 80 are useful, I would view it as an addition of 60, not a reduction of 29.
I don't mind losing some schematics because a lot of them are just no good - either due to stat, cost to make, or difficulty of obtaining ingredients.
However I would hate for it to be just 13-20 core foods. People are being very original and unique in how they are combining foods to help them in their professions, and their orders reflect that.
For example, a good number of folks like Durindfire, even though it is a lower mind buff than Fishak, because it also buffs health. Ormachek is still very popular because it buffs all mind substats and its less filling.
Some people want their stat in drink form, others need it as food. Some folks want things that last longer, others just want a quick surge of power, some folks don't want any negatives in their food stats, others don't care or compensate with other foods. The list could go on ![]()
And price is a consideration for new players and professions that don't rake in the cash.
I asked my mailing list recently what combos they were using. I think I got 5 replies back and each one was different.
So I think as long as there is enough variety to keep things interesting for both customer and chef it will be fine to trim off some of the fat. There do seem to be a lot of recipes that have no purpose at all -- I bet if you started a thread on which foods we've never made, the developers would get a good idea which things could be trimmed out easily.
