Chef Archive

Every time I check out the chef posts, I always see several posts that ask for the going rate of this food or that food. I figure that the average selling price of foods should be a sticky, clearing up these multiple posts. So as a contribution to the chef community, I am asking everyone to post on this thread their bestselling food items and the price that they normally sell them for. Also include a brief general description of how you figure your price for an item (not each item, just in general). I will then take each food item listed and all the different prices listed, drop the lowest and highest, then average out the rest to get the average selling price of that food. I will then create a new thread with the results for each item as well as the different ways chefs calculate their prices with the percentages for each way. If we're lucky, maybe SirVimes will add it to the stickies. I'm hoping that this thread will make things a little easier for people hunting going rates and prices.
