Working fine for me - at least all the resources section is. Haven't tried the forums yet.

If you've been checking out the stats on the forums you will have seen that the site is getting more and more visitors per week, with Monday morning (US time) being the most popular time. I guess all you folks must come back from your weekend trips away and check out what's new first thing on Monday morning
Last Monday we managed to get up to 340 people on to the site at one time before the server decided it didn't want to play any more. Thanks to various bits of tuning that I have been doing to the server, this number if a lot higher than we managed a couple of weeks ago. However, it's still not enough and I'm pretty sure that I can get more out of the server if I can figure out what other bits need tuned.
To be able to do this I need to find out what part of the site is putting the most load on the web server. Therefore, for today and tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday) I will be disabling all database features on the site, apart from the current resources section and the forum. These are the two sections that cannot go for two days without causing major problems. I will put everything back to the way it is now on Wednesday morning (US time).
Also, if you have had a lot of previous experience running and tuning large volume Linux/Apache/PHP/MySQL sites then please get in touch with me. I'm really interested in talking to someone who has gone through this sort of thing before. After all, two heads are better than one!
