Thread: Have they changed the chance of an 'Amazing' recently?

In the last week or so, I've found it almost impossible to get amazing successes in experimentation


I used to be able to rely on taking no more than 3 or 4 tries to get an amazing success, now I can go through 20 or 30 without seeing ONE amazing! I'm using a +15 tool on a +45.0 station, with a +12 suit (so 11 Exp points) and +10 Bespin Port. I'm not in a Research Centre, but I haven't been in a research centre for months, so that's not the issue. Nothing has changed in my circumstances for a good long while, so it's nothing at my end.


This is driving me up the wall, and the difference is so extreme I can't believe it's just a run of bad rolls. I just recently spent 2 days trying to make some decent Canape, maybe a total of 35 attempts (quitting in frustration at each 'full stomach' point), and had to settle for 'great' successes in the end, because I simply could not get an amazing. I'm now 10 attempts into some Brandy, with the same problem - no amazings to be found.


Is this just me? Please, somebody help me!

Hmm... any idea what sort of range that droid thing works over? Someone has recently dumped a house next to mine, but I wouldn't have thought it would reach that far, and even then, they can't be online, in the house, with a depowered droid ALL the time I'm getting these s****y rolls.


But, I have also been getting more crit fails too (5 today, which seems horribly high to me). Bah, I'm lost - don't know what's going on, but I had to settle for greats on the Brandy too, after 20-odd attempts, so something's definitely changed for me


Thanks for the suggestion, anyway. It conjures up all sort of industrial espionage possibilities, I'll be on the lookout for rivals strolling past with run-down droids from now on

I have been making schematics with 8 to 12 amazing each schematic np. Usually takes me 4 - 15 tries.

Did you happen to have a droid out with a food/chem module, or were you around someone who did? And does it need power?


I've noticed that a droid's module seems to take precedence over a crafting station, and the success rate goes into the toilet when the droid runs out of power.

Well, it was definitely location-based, or an astonishing coincidence...


A friend suggested I try using his station (also +45.0) last night, so I took my stuff over, and bang - amazing first try


So, there's me logging in today, thinking about moving my workshop... when I step outside and see a lovely, empty space where my new neighbour used to be!


Wasting no time, I rush to the crafting station! Second try - amazing! Third - amazing!


The curse is lifted.... and I suggest that anyone who finds themselves having a run of awful results, look closely at your neighbours

Droid mods are neutral in crafting.... has no effect on the rolls, regardless of quality.

I rarely get an even distribution of amazings. It is either all great success, one after another for many tries, or I get a bunch of amazings in a row. Either I am god, or I suck, rarely do I get that inbetween state. Something is mess up. Maybe this research center bug has something to do with that.
