ive got a +5 apron with 3 sockets can i add more to it or wont it stack if you get what i mean and can you add a +1 to a +1 does that work?

No, I wouldn't recommend doing it. SEAs are supposed to stack (so adding a +1 to an apron with +5 is supposed to give +6), but right now the SEA disappears, and most of the time a socket gets used up.
I saw a report in "Core Systems" a few days ago about a couple people who got the stacking to work, but I tried with a couple cheap "Pike accuracy +1" tapes and didn't get them to stack. It may have something to do with older tapes being broken but newer ones are ok.
If it's a newly dropped tape, you might try risking it in the apron, but you may end up with a +5 apron with 2 sockets...
Of course, if you're talking about tapes other than Food Assembly/Experimentation, those should work just fine in the apron. It's only adding tapes that have the same bonus as the existing clothing's that causes problems.

As far as I know, stacking them is still iffy and bugged. I've heard of some people getting lucky and getting tapes to stick in aprons, but I wouldn't risk it.
