As far as I've been able to determine, BE food tissues weren't touched in the CU. They use the same resources, give the same bonus types, and have the same stat ranges.
One related thing that did change was the shuffling of the BE experimentation mods to all be in the "Engineering Techniques" tree. So an 0404 BE has 10 experimentation points and can make all the food tissues except for the Nanonutrient (heavy nutrition tissue) and Carbocaloric Eliminator (heavy filling tissue), which are Master-level schems. So if you want to take up BE yourself, it's a bit easier. And there are probably some pre-CU doctors who respeced to BE to focus on medical crafting, so there may be more sources of tissues.
