I can't speak for the other chefs here, only my own experience on Valcyn.
BoH is the most insanely complicated schematic chefs have, as far as time and supplies are involved. The short version is that it requires six alcohols, and to make a quality product 90% of chefs use aludium pu36 in that slot. To make a full run of 1000, it takes at least 2-3 days. Then to take that 1000 and turn it into Breath of Heaven takes roughly 5 days. After 7-8 days, the chef gets a grand total of 6 crates and some change. BoH is the best generic drink item in the game (meaning unless they have specific other needs, they want BoH) and 6 crates disappears like smoke on the wind. And THIS is assuming that the chef has all the resources required to do a full run!
THAT is why BoH is so hard to find. 
I suggest that you email your various chefs on your server (if you can find any) and tell them that you have access to your own factory and your own resources, and see if they will make you schematics for their going rate minus the market value of the resources.
For example, my husband on Valcyn charges 80k for a single crate of Breath of Heaven. If you were to ask him to do this, for every crate's worth of BoH schematics, he would charge you 80k minus the going market rate of the resources (usually 3-5cpu, depending.)
Not an ideal situation to be sure, but if you need BoH that badly I can't imagine why a chef wouldn't take you up on it. You get your BoH, they don't have to use their factory time, and they get the same profit as they would had they bought your materials off you so they don't have to worry about you reselling it.
Another thing would be to offer 250k per crate. I'd do a custom order for that, but not much less.
I was wondering why the price on this stuff was so out of whack compared to other foods. I have a clarifying question. It is my understanding from these posts that the high price of Breath of Heaven is a result of factory time required to make it, not a result of the resources required for its manufacture. Is this correct?
Yeah, it's actually both the resources and the factory time.
Remember that good ingredients often cost more than 3cpu, especially in the medical and food ones.
Yep, and counting the run of aludian, it's about10hours of factory time. Per crate. And even with the 1000 limit on schematics, the largest BoH run you could do is 332, assuming you used different aludian runs for the two slots and you got a good BoH schematic on the first try. Any wonder why you hardly every see these for sale?

It's a combination of factors that make Breath of Heaven so pricey. First, we have the gigantic amount of resources used per crate. Then, we've got to factor in the need to have extremely high quality resources to turn out the best possible product. Add to that the painfully long factory time (3 full, real time days to produce just the component alcohol), and already you've got a pricey product.
Now, factor in the absolutely gigantic demand for it. On any given day, I get 3 or 4 tells from folks looking foranywhere from 1 - 10crates of the stuff, and I don't advertise *at all*. In order to keep up with that kind of demand, I'd have to dedicate myself entirely to producing breath of heaven. And I don't just mean dedicate all my factories to it. I mean literally dedicate *myself* to it. 
Matter of fact, I was hesitant to post this reply because I fear it might tip people off that I make the stuff. So just to get it out there... it all sold out last night,less than 10 minutesafter being pulled from the factory. 
One thing that I can suggest to folks who can't find BoH is to ask your local chef if they can recommend an alternative food combination. Most of us have an encyclopaedic knowledge of our products and can come up with specially designed menus for just about any profession. Breath of Heaven might not even be your best choice.On more than a few occasions, I've helped a customer find a much better (and much less costly) alternative after chattingwith them about their profession anddetermining what their real needs are.Have a chat with your local chef and discuss your needs. They may have 10 crates of the perfect tonic just waiting for you.
