I am currently working on chef and I have a simple question.

Are large glasses worth the 100 units of gemstone later on when I am master and want to make big factory runs?

You'll get debate on this issue, but IMHO, no, large glasses are not economical. I use strictly small glasses or casks.

I'm one of the ones (few, I guess) who think that large glasses can be useful. I look at it this way: at 3cpu (pretty common pricefor grind-quality resources) you're spending 270 more credits for 1.5x the number of doses (even less if you harvest them yourself). If you sell a drink made with small glasses for more than 550 credits per stack, you can make a profit by using large glasses and bumping the price 1.5x.

That being said, I usually only use large glasses for single stack drinks (made for myself, on-the-street customers with drink requests, or put onto the bazaar as "teaser" sales to bring people to my vendors). If I take the time to do a factory run, 99% of the time I'll use casks.
