Since the chef revamp, I have shifted to nearly 100% BE Food on my vendors. And to be honest, it's a shame. I pride myself of keeping a wide variety of foods, but almsot all are Bio-Enhanced. Just shortly after revamp, I used to try to stock non-be canape and a few others to satisfy the masses. But the non-be did not move very well. Has anyone had any luck selling any of the non-bio enhanced stuff? If so what kind? IMO, it just seems that many servers are spoiled to have so many great chefs making BE foods. And it with such a large supply of it, it almost makes making non-be foods pointless. However, I am prepared to jump back in and test the waters once again to see if in fact, I can spark an interest amongst my loyal customer base. Perhaps that +300 canape is a decent alternative to no canape when the BE Canape is sold out. Dunno, we'll see.
I'm about to test the market with some of the following non-be foods:
Brandy
Canape
Canape
Vercupti
Aircake
Thatkillo
Burnout Sauce
Sythsteak
and a few others
My hope is to price these low enough to catch the eye of the lower level and cash-tight/new players. Not everyone can afford the BE priced foods. And the rich folks typically buy up the better foods faster than the lower end in my experiences.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Ikoo

I sell some non BE food, but the vast majority of what I sell is BE. Maybe 10-15% is non BE crates. Pretty much all those that you mentioned are the ones.
I think the biggest problem is the prices. I realize BE food isn't exactly cheap, but food overall isn't that cheap. 400k worth of food will usually run out faster than a 400k set of armor unless all your fighting is SBDs.
Stat foods I think are the ones lacking with non BE versions. Take brandy. a +400 boost isn't horrible, but it almost is useless to many people. Most customers seem to want something on the same level of doc buffs. Regular food falls very short in that. I'm not saying it is worthless, but BE food lets most people spam specials all day long. Regular food doesn't allow for that, so in some cases there is no difference to the user between no food and regular food.
I am dissapointed by this as well. 90% of the food I sell, requires the biggest dependency in the game. I totally expected BE food to become the norm just because of how wealthy the majority of players are. 100k for a crate is nothing when you see people spending 500k+ on a set of armor every few weeks or millions on krayt weapons.

I don't sell any non-BE foods. However, I've been thinking about doing these to help out the people that don't have too much money to spend on BE products.

eh not really. Mainly Ormachek, Thakitillo, and Synthsteak.
It's kind of upsetting that without BE comps food is virtually worthless to players. On a good note I made some 88 BSN, so I can't wait to have fun with those when they are done.

Dont make much non-BE food, I would rather split up the crate to make it a bit more affordable for the buyer

I sell quite a bit of non BE Ahrisa, Vag Cap, Brandy, Synthsteak, Veghash and Citris Snow Cake. Several of my customers will buy a crate of BE brandy and non BE brandy and use the cheaper stuff for casual playing.

22% of my sales are non-BE foods. Most recently, I have +15 Veghash (NonBE) and +27 Veghash (BE) side by side and they are selling 1:1 based on crate sales. The nonBE crate is priced 75% cheaper than the BE. Other nonBE foods that sell decently enough are pyollian cakes; synthsteak; brandy; canape.
Talking to customers I find the reason it sells is a combination of those who lack the funds or need for the high-potency stuff, and those that use the nonBE stuff for simple enhancements (non threatening situations) to save the BE stuff for harder, more important tasks later.

I really appreciate information like this folks. Still experimenting a lot after the grind to master and there is a lot to learn. Chef has really turned out to be a fun prof.

I used to sell non-BE brandy but not anymore. However, I do pretty decent with Non-BE Synthasteak and non-be 33 filling Canape.

I find that non-BE accarragm sells really well to dancers. I can't keep that stuff stocked.
