Hello Friends,

I am leveling up an alternate account so that he is a master chef. As I begin this project, I am wondering if it is worth my effort to attempt to sell any of my products prior to making master chef? or should I grind my way to master then open up a shoppe?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely

My character on Chilastra is grinding up Chef at present. As soon as I got 3 boxes in Cooking (experiment points), I starting making Blue Milk and Synthsteak for sale on Coronet bazaar. Not top quality stuff of course, but it is a way to gauge interest and test out pricing.

Yeah will a few exp points under your belt you can start selling stuff very quickly. Nice ones are the afformentioned, also maybe work on entertainers and sell them swirls and suchlike. A stomach full of swirls should allow them to do a buff without worrying about a doc buff for instance.

You're time and money may be better spent harvesting resources that you Will need once you reach master chef, rather than wasting time getting stuff that you will use now at a much lower profit. I really suggest you put effort right now into collecting meat with your scout and harvesting any good flora that's out there right now (this is if you have the resources to do so and don't desperately need money). Otherwise when you master you'll waste alot of time and frustration when you get to that "Okay I did it I got master, but I can't make anything" point.

I 100% fully agree, start stocking up on real good resources, with an emphasis on meat (carnivore should be first on the list). When I mastered Chef I had to borrow a mill from my buddy to get good enough resources to make decent quality food. As far as Harvesting, berries, fruits, vegetables are what you will use more than anything else, except for what is required for the different components, and for them quality doesnt matter.

That is the key, there. If you have a major stash of credits from previous professions then, by all means, spend your effort on harvesting quality resources. But when grinding up from the bottom, the income gets very important. Plus I get bored out of my gourd if I try to macro-grind for more than 15 minutes at a time. At this point, a lot of my Chef XP comes from crafting food for sale; money comes from sales and missions; and the macro-grind is something to fill the time waiting for shuttles. You can also macro-grind while running crosscountry while surveying resources. (And then you are in mid-craft when an agro spawn suddenly materializes all around you, thanks to the server lag!)
