Thread: Do you feel Helpful as a Chef
When you get into big PvP fight people tend to have the same resists on their armor. It helps a ton, but doesn't win it, I call it a stalemate
When I'm on my TKM char dueling or PvPing the only way I lose is if the other guy has a wider variety of food he takes. I see it all the time with TKM Dueling, the duels will last for 15 minutes, and what wins it is either someone's canape going out early, or the other guy popped a steak later.... it's always the food that determines the TKM's PvP outcome. And since 99.9999999% of my galaxy is TKM, yes I feel VERY helpful.

Just a Roleplayer question (ah, run away!). If i ever unlock my second slot and get JTL i want an ithorian Chef/Doctor.
i really really do feel that i help a BUNCH of people with my chef. i have multiple accounts, the chef is chef/merchat/artisan with a touch of novice pistoleer, so my combat experience comes from my other toons. when folks ask about food, i ask what combat class they are and give suggestions. like, if they're learning TK, burnout sauce is terrific. rifle or TK master already, if they haven't heard about ahrisa, oh boy, they *love* the stuff. anyone learning a new prof, i tell about citros snow cake. that sort of thing, lots of people just don't know the variety of foods out there.
i don't ever pvp, but i have a ton of pvp customers and have gotten to learn what they want, and their requirements (such as lower filling being more important than a +90 stat on thakitillo), and for people with questions starting out in pvp, i can suggest some foods, and also give them names of customers that love pvp that can answer specific questions.
i roleplay more for fun than as a way of playing, so what i'm about to mention might drive you nuts if you are a real roleplayer and it happens to you. i'm a rebel, but i never go overt on any of my chars. at least 4 times now, i've been around (but not participating in) big pvp battles, and people fighting on both sides /cheered and/or /hugged me. that cracks me up, but you do have to realize that as a chef with a vendor, you could end up helping both sides, and i'm not sure that's what you want in your roleplay. makes me /sigh when i get sales emails that dark jedi knights bought my food, but, part of being a chef with a vendor.
as a chef/doctor, you'd sure be helping a lot of people. i'm friends with one of the doctors who sells the most buff packs on my server. he said to me recently 'i think you could be the only person who buffs more people on kett than i do' which really made me laugh.
the best, by far, is when you talk with someone new, and give advice or samples, and they take the time to let you know later that it did help, or even save their life. i heard of a jedi the other day looking for pyollian cake and not being able to find any, so i sent him a tell to let him know i had some in stock. we got to talking, he'd mastered lightsaber just that day, and wanted to use it for making his new sabers, and bespin port too. i very rarely play my jedi, but when i do, i have a menu of foods that i substitute for armor, pikatta pie and synthsteak. i'm not in game now to check the stats, but i think my steak lasts for 36 attacks. but, when i eat it with the pie, so many attacks miss, and those don't count against the 36 attack limit, that combination really works well for me PVE. so i mentioned that to this jedi, and some other foods that could help, we had fun talking. the next day, i logged in to find a thank you email from him, he took on 2 melee defense stackers at the same time and won! he was so excited, and said it was mostly due to my foods. i sincerely doubt *that*, it was mostly his skill i'm sure, but it really did make me smile to know that i had helped. for me, it really really really is fun, and i really really really do feel that i help people. and i just realized that i went off really really really rambling to answer your short question. you should see how i get when people ask food questions, i start off by warning them 'cut me off if you need to, i can talk food for hours' ![]()
best of luck to you in whatever you do decide!

How??? I was thinking that i might get a second account and maybe have a combat character. So far i spend every minute i have making customer orders, stocking vendors on 2 planets at 3 locations, loading factories. I don't think i'll ever have time for a second character, but i love making food so its ok
Crazyana
But seriously yes if anyone askes me any questions i always answer them, if its stupid ones like "hey can you make me some brandy" when i'm on dath about to go to my harvs (thats a true story). So i just politely answer them, takes what a whole minute to do and who knows, you could of just got yourself another customer.
I don't deal with custom orders tho tbh, the other chefs in the business handle that mostly. But if anyone asks i'm happy to refer them.
I really think it comes down to having respect for the customer, it makes good sense to treat them well, then they'll hopefully give you some repeat custom.

i have a *lot* of free time ![]()
and also, the *only* way i can keep my stock is to have one and only one location, right next to my storage and factories. i recently joined a guild, they'd love for me to put a vendor in their player city, but it's just not feasible. food sells as fast as i can make the BE tissues for it most days, i simply could not handle being any more busy than i am now as far as sales. i wouldn't be able to keep up with 2 locations even on the same planet. how you handle 2 planets is beyond my comprehension!
