master chef you need the 2 extra points in experimenting to make any chef food "good " all crafting professions need master if you want to make high end stuff

If you have tapes I guess you really only need mix 3 to get the brandy schem

You need at least 0034 chef for decent brandy

at Mixtology 3 you get the brandy schematic, anc cooking 4 gives you 9 Experimentation points.

Your brandy will be worse though than one a Master Chef makes, not to mention the ones from 12 point chefs.

you might reach brandy with 380-390 and 45 min (depending on resources it might be better/worse of course).

As master Chef you'll have 1 exp-point more that will be aproximately 15 points more buff or 1-2 minutes longer duration (at least thats what I got more once i've gone from 10 to 11)

If you want to sell, and sell well, master chef. If you just want to mess around with some for personal use then 0034 will do.

Wouldn't say that.

With 9 points you can get brandy as good as an average 10 point chef.

Just try to get at least 7 or 8 points amazing successes while doing it, and your brandy should be equal to a 10 pointer with only great successes.

All amazing schems are very hard to make, I'm a Master Chef, using a 15.00 tool, 43ish crafting station, in a research town (no seas) and i get maybe2 or 3amazing points. That number increases massively if you're a 12 point chef or any other crafter (about 50% amazings on averag) which tends to get ennoying when you have +6 Food Exp seas go for 21 mil on your server =/.

My Brandy right now is 7 of 11points amazing. I didn't bother for a 10 point amazing, cause with 3 great successes in duration i was already at 44 minutes. amazings would have given me 45 or 45.5, ok sure would have been nice, but wasn't necessary, and using only 2 amazings would have been 43, so I couldn't have safed a point there either.

And not everyone uses all amazing schems, I think a lot of people are too lazy to do it, or don't really know the true benefit of it.

I've seen 12 point chefs with worse stuff than I sold as 10 pointer.

All amazings are easy to get, even as a 10 points. You just need patience and have to put aside 1 crate of each sub component. I very rarely go over that 1 crate amount. I hardly ever did as a 10 point.

Well i always use my 15.00 tools and my 44.00 station in a research centre. The way i do it (and i've tried alot ways and this seems the best) is to use the biggest amount of points first. For example with Bivoli i always do the nutrition first till i get a amazing success, after that i generally need 1 more point to hit 25. I can then put 1 more point in use for the 3 use and then put whatever is left in duration.

But i do use bespin port in a very specific way. After getting the initial amazing success (this can take up to 10 goes to get) i then take a shot of port and try for the next amazing success. This is especially true with my brandy, 8 points in nutrition and 4 in duration, i get the 8 points without port and try for the amazing 4 point duration with. It seems the most effieciant way of doing it.

On the success to point used ration its definitely the less points the more chance of a amazing, if i'm crafting and put 1 point in something its more often that not amazing.

But its all just dump luck in the end, i've went through 2 crates of components just to get a all amazing schem, but other days it takes 2 goes.

Maybe different servers have different percentages, or maybe I just got screwed because I'm a wookie =).

But I always use one crate of ingredients to experiment with, and I've stocked about 6 runs of food so far (just started) and none of those 6 had more than 5 amazings =/. (10 pt chef)

This is using a 15.00 tool, 43ish station, research city.

Out of curiousity, do you see better results putting in more points per experiment (reducing the number of experiments) or using fewer points (increasing the chance of an amazing for each experiment)? And did you do this with or without Bespin Port or research center bonus?

I was attempting this with a Bivoli schematic a week or so back. Even a4-5 point amazing would've been enough to hit +25 and leave me enough experimentation points to get 3 uses. I went through half a crate of heavy additives before noticing that my crafting tool was -11. /doh! Grabbing some high-CD copper I had lying around I whipped up a couple good tools, and tried again. Twice I got the amazings I needed....one followed immediately by a "good" success, the other by a "moderate". Grrr.

I do it the same way as Ind.

I'm 11 point chef, for that mentioned brandy, I had to put 3 points into duration to hit 44/45 mins, 1 point into filling (started with 51, 1 great is enough to go to 49), that leaves 7 in nutrition.

So i put 7 in nutrition. If its not an amazing I usually hit Esc at this point already and start again.

If its amazing I take a port and 3 points into duration. If it works, 1 point in filling and save the schematic.
