Thread: As a novice merchant with 3 vendors, what should I sell on each?

I have all my food on 1 vendor, with another misc. vendor in the tent. My 3d vendor is at my house, so I can transfer foods by putting them up for sale, going to the tent, and grabbing them back from the stockroom.

Don;t really need to do that anymore, and I find that with over 200+ crates of food on 1 vendor it is becomming a bit much. Some people don't even know to hit the "next Items" button...

Anyway, I was going to plan on having all 3 vendors in the tent, but was wondering how to break them down. I do some custom orders, so I was going to have a misc. vendor, but that doesn't mean it can't hold obscure foods or something.

Any ideas on what the best break is? I can think of a few:

1 Drink only, 1 Food only, 1 Misc.

Same as above but replace Misc. with Brandy/Canape/Misc

1 Brandy/Canape/Ahrisa (best sellers),1 Bivoli/Havla/Veghash/Synthsteak, 1 Other foods/Misc.

Thanks

i rearranged my vendors completely right before patch 10, mostly to make it easier on myself. with 3-4 pages of things on my crates vendor, it was hard for me to know when i was almost sold out something that was listed across multiple pages. my new system is working out great for me, i use more vendors than you qualify for since i'm master merchant, but it might give you an idea or two.

i have a singles vendor, which usually is just the samples that weren't good enough to make into schematics.

i have a brandy vendor, nothing on it but crates of brandy, so that i can tell in an instant how much i have left and when i need to start cooking more. i alsohave an ahrisa/canapes vendor, just those two, same reason as brandy, those 3 are my biggest sellers by far. that change alone has helped keep me sane, no more hitting the next page button to see if the 3 crates i have left on page 1 are the only crates left, or if there are 10 more hiding on page 3.

at first i had all the rest on a third vendor, but that got too cluttered even without the top sellers on it, so i split it into two.

one new vendor i waskinda worried about, that people might not understand, i called Defensive Foods and Drinks, and dressed her in padded armor. it holds crates of pikatta pie, air cake, synthsteak, exoprotein wafer, thakitillo, vegesparine, ithorian mist, trimpian, those kinds of things. just seemed the most logical way to me to split up 'the rest' of the stuff. turns out it's doing *really* well. my theory is that most people just didn't know there are so many kinds of foods that help with defense, until they saw it sorted that way.

the last vendor is just everything else that i stock: bivoli, bespin port, pyollian cake, veghash, nutricakes, travel biscuits, havla, swirls, won-wons, accarragm, you name it.

what you say about some people not knowing to hit the 'next page' button is true, but it didn't take near as long as i thought it would for people to get used to my new system. go with what works for you, and if you do put the best sellers on 1 or 2 vendors, put a sign about that for sale on the other vendor. like, my 'everything else' vendor has an item named **vasarian brandy is on the Brandy Candy vendor** for 999999 credits or so. sorting things that way may make it much easier on you and on them. good luck!
